Spotlight (Japanese: スポットライト Spotlight) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation VII.
Effect
Generation VII
Spotlight causes the move's target to become the center of attention, forcing all attacks from the target's foes to target it instead of their intended target. This effect overrides any other forms of redirection, either through moves like Follow Me and Rage Powder, Abilities like Storm Drain and Lightning Rod, or Ally Switch.
If powered up by a Normalium Z into Z-Spotlight, the user's Special Defense stat rises by 1 stage.
Generation VIII
Spotlight cannot be selected in a battle.

Trivia
- The German name of the move Follow Me is Spotlight, which exists as a loanword from English. This move is named Rampenlicht instead, which is a translation of the same term.
