Trivia
Origin
Chien-Pao may be based on a snow leopard, although its body proportions are more similar to those of weasels, linsangs or some depictions of the Tatzelwurm. Its elongated fangs may have been inspired by the prehistoric Smilodon.
Name origin
Chien-Pao and Paojian may be a combination of 劍 / 剑 jiàn (Chinese for sword) and 豹 bào (Chinese for leopard).
