List of Pokémon by Paldea Pokédex number
Shortcut Pdex |
This is a list of Pokémon in the order dictated by the Paldea regional Pokédex, meaning that the first partner Pokémon from Paldea will appear first, followed by Pokémon native to the Paldea region. There are 400 numbered Pokémon in the Paldea Pokédex. For the first time, no Pokédex numbers shown in the game have leading zeros, though the Scarlet and Violet Pokédexes in Pokémon HOME still use leading zeros for Pokédex numbers for consistency.
Many additional Pokémon were added to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet through updates and made accessible through Pokémon HOME and the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. Many of the newly-added Pokémon appear in the Kitakami Pokédex and Blueberry Pokédex.

Compatible Pokémon formerly not in any Scarlet and Violet Pokédex
These Pokémon were compatible with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in an earlier version than the one which added them to one of the Scarlet and Violet Pokédexes.
Trivia
- Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is the first game in which regional forms (and original forms of regional form Pokémon) can be obtained but are not registered in the Pokédex.
- Some images in the Paldea Pokédex reference Pokémon biology or other Pokémon media:
- Some Pokémon are depicted as predators to others: Starly to Scatterbug, Rufflet to Spewpa, Persian to Starly, Salandit to Combee, Barraskewda to Wingull, and Mareanie to Pincurchin.
- The rivalry of Zangoose and Seviper, Toxapex and Bruxish, and Slowking and Oranguru are shown for these Pokémon.
- Stunky's image presents it being ready to emit repulsive gases.
- Drifloon and Froslass's images show them potentially kidnapping a child and a man, respectively.
- Meowth's image shows it beside a Pikachu, which might reference the Pokémon anime and the rivalry between Ash's Pikachu and Team Rocket's Meowth.
- Dragonite in front of a lighthouse may be a reference to its debut episode in the anime, Mystery at the Lighthouse.
- There is a visual glitch on Flamigo's Pokédex image, showing two Flamigo with their wings both spread out and tucked in.
- This is the first regional Pokédex to exclude the Zubat family, and the first to exclude Lickilicky and Mantyke after their debuts.
- Like the other mascots in Scarlet and Violet, Koraidon and Miraidon's image have a unique gold border.
- The Paldea Pokédex available in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME (added in v3.0.0) uses the same images as those seen in the Pokédex in Scarlet and Violet, albeit with the borders removed.
- Although Wailmer is not present in Scarlet and Violet, it is referenced in the Pokédex entry for Cetoddle.
- All Generation VIII species and alternate forms that were introduced mid-generation (in updates to Pokémon Sword and Shield and in Pokémon Legends: Arceus) are compatible with Scarlet and Violet.
- All Pokémon with a Hisuian form are available in-game as their non-Hisuian counterpart.
- The Paldean Pokédex is somewhat unreliable with showing where some Pokémon can be found, and doesn't show all the locations of all Pokémon. Some examples include: a sizable amount of non-Paradox Pokémon (such as Chansey) can be found in Area Zero despite not stating so on the map, Cacturne can be found in the Asado Desert despite the map stating its location as "area unknown", Gastrodon can spawn on the beach of North Province (Area Three) despite the map not showing the area as one of its spawn locations, and the locations of Wild Tera Pokémon (such as Tsareena) will not be shown on the map.
- Despite occurring in the Area Zero Underdepths, Carbink does not appear in the Paldea Pokédex or the Blueberry Pokédex.
