Poké Portal News (Japanese: ポケポータルニュース Poké Portal News) is a feature in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that expands on the available Tera Raid Battles in the Paldea region, making certain Pokémon more common for a limited time. It can be accessed via Mystery Gift or updated automatically by connecting to the internet in game. Certain species of Terastal Pokémon, which are usually very rare, are often made more common through Poké Portal News events. These event Tera Raids will appear on the map and mini-map with a unique icon.
List of Tera Raid Battles
The following lists, in reverse chronological order, different Tera Raid Battle events. The event periods for the given dates typically last between 00:00 UTC on the initial date, to 23:59 UTC on the end date.
2022
December 30, 2022 to January 1, 2023 & January 13 to 15, 2023
The 5th Tera Raid Battle event was Cinderace with the Mightiest Mark, granting the title Cinderace the Unrivaled (Japanese: 最強のエースバーン The Strongest Aceburn), appeared at 7★ black Tera Raid crystals during two time periods: from December 30, 2022 to January 1, 2023, then again from January 13 to 15, 2023. Cinderace cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, and the Cinderace appearing during this event has Fighting as its Tera Type. This Cinderace could only be caught once per save file, although the Tera Raid Battle could be attended repeatedly for additional item rewards. If players captured Cinderace during the December 30, 2022 to January 1, 2023 period, they were ineligible to capture a second Cinderace during the January 13 to 15, 2023 period.[1]
December 23 to 25, 2022
The 4th Tera Raid Battle event was Present from Delibird (Japanese: デリバードからのプレゼント! Present from Delibird). Delibird with random Tera Types will be appearing more frequently in Tera Raid Battles from December 23 to 25, 2022.[2]
December 9 to 11, 2022
The 3rd Tera Raid Battle event was the Tyranitar and Salemence Spotlight (Japanese: ピックアップ! バンギラス & ボーマンダ Pickup! Bangiras & Bowmanda). Tyranitar and Salamence with random Tera Types appeared more frequently in 4★ and 5★ Tera Raid Battles from December 9 to 11, 2022, with Tyranitar being found in Pokémon Scarlet, and Salamence being found in Pokémon Violet respectively.[3]
In addition to 4 randomized raids, 1 daily raid was guaranteed to be 5★ with a fixed tera type. Scarlet players have access to a 5★ Tyranitar den with a Ghost Tera Type, while Violet players have access to a 5★ Salamence den with a Steel Tera Type.
This was scheduled to occur between the two Charizard the Unrivaled 7★ raid event periods, with Charizard raids resuming starting December 16 and ending December 18, 2022.
December 2 to 4 & 16 to 18, 2022
The 2nd Tera Raid Battle event was Charizard with the Mightiest Mark, granting the title Charizard the Unrivaled (Japanese: 最強のリザードン The Strongest Lizardon), appeared at 7★ black Tera Raid crystals during two time periods: from December 2 to 4, 2022, then again from December 16 to 18, 2022. Charizard cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, and the Charizard appearing during this event has Dragon as its Tera Type. This Charizard could only be caught once per save file, although the Tera Raid Battle could be attended repeatedly for additional item rewards.[4][5] If players captured Charizard during the December 2 to 4 period, they were ineligible to capture a second Charizard during the December 16 to 18 period.[6]
