This is a reverse-chronological list of event Pokémon distributions that were given away via trading to Pokémon games in Generation VIII.

In contrast with traded events in other generations where the Pokémon to be traded are usually based on a template and have many fixed attributes, the Pokémon on this page are generally obtained directly in-game—bred in unique balls to be given away or farmed in low level zones.

List of Pokémon

Poké Times Trade Meeting Campaign #4

These Bidoof were distributed by the Poké Times Twitter account on the GTS within Pokémon HOME on May 27th, 2022. Thirty Bidoof each from both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus were distributed from 18:00 JST to 19:31 JST. Any Pokémon deposited into the GTS requesting a Bidoof during this timeframe was eligible to receive one.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus Bidoof

This Bidoof was seemingly distributed in both a Poké Ball and a Great Ball; how many of the 30 Bidoof were distributed in each is not known. These Bidoof are caught in the Obsidian Fieldlands and have a level between 2 and 14.

V Jump Christmas Trade Party Pokémon

These Pokémon were distributed by shōnen manga magazine V Jump as one of several major media companies taking part in the Pokémon Christmas Trade Party event livestreamed on the Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel. While most of the distributions from the other companies present at the event were seemingly picked from Pokémon they had on hand, V Jump is notable in that all of the Pokémon they distributed were prepared specifically for the Christmas Trade Party event.[1] At least twenty-six Dedenne, nicknamed "デデンネV" (DedenneV), were prepared for Pokémon Sword and Shield players while fifteen Buizel, nicknamed "Vゼル" (VSel), were prepared for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players.

However, due to miscommunication between the livestream organizers and V Jump, only five each of these Dedenne and Buizel were distributed to viewers during the broadcast via Link Code on December 19th, 2021. V Jump, apologetic for the event, bred additional Dedenne and Buizel and distributed them via Link Trade on December 26th, 2021.[1] During the second distribution, twenty Buizel were distributed to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players from 18:00 JST to 18:54 JST while fifty Dedenne were distributed to Pokémon Sword and Shield players from 19:00 JST to 19:26 JST.

Dedenne

All of the Dedenne were distributed with 31 IVs in every stat bar Attack. These Dedenne only held Big Nuggets in the initial distribution, but some were also given Comet Shards or Balm Mushrooms in the second distribution.

Level 50 Dedenne

Of the 50 Dedenne, 5 were raised to level 50 exclusively for the second distribution. All of the Dedenne were distributed with 31 IVs in every stat bar Attack. These Dedenne only held Big Nuggets in the initial distribution, but some were also given Comet Shards or Balm Mushrooms in the second distribution. Uniquely, these Dedenne also have max EVs in Speed and Special Attack.

Poké Times Trade Meeting Campaign #3

These Pokémon were distributed by the Poké Times Twitter account to celebrate Christmas. Two different batches of these Pokémon were distributed on different dates - the first distribution began on December 18th, 2021 during the Pokémon Christmas Trade Party livestream event. 30 Stantler were distributed via Link Trade for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players beginning at 18:24 JST, while a total of 30 Gible were distributed via Link Trade for Pokémon Sword and Shield players beginning at 18:50 JST. Poké Times never confirmed if every Stantler and Gible in the batches was traded for this first distribution, so the exact number traded is unclear. These Pokémon have 31 IVs in every stat. At least 2 of each distribution were known to carry an item - a Lucky Egg and a Choice Band for the Stantler distribution, and a Moon Ball and a Heavy Ball for the Gible distribution. Strangely, the Gible has a different Trainer ID number than previous Poké Times events distributed to Sword and Shield.

This distribution was poorly communicated on the Twitter account with many fans being left confused on how to be eligible to receive these Pokémon, leading to Poké Times issuing an apology for the lack of clarity regarding the distribution, and announcing that they would begin a second distribution of the Stantler and Gible on December 23rd, 2021. However, on the day of the distribution, Poké Times coincidentally had their Twitter account suspended, leading to the distribution being rescheduled for the day after on December 24th, 2021 where they were finally distributed.[1] This second distribution appears to be for slightly different Stantler and Gible than those given away during the livestream event. They all have 31 IVs in every stat except Special Attack rather than 31 IVs in every stat, and do not seem to carry any items. Other attributes, such as the nature, species and Poké Balls are the same, however. Only twenty Stantler were distributed, rather than the thirty in the initial distribution. They were distributed to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players beginning from 19:00 to 20:00 JST, while the thirty Gible were distributed via Surprise Trade for Pokémon Sword and Shield players from 20:00 to 21:00 JST.
