Poké Portal News (Japanese: ポケポータルニュース Poké Portal News) is a feature in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that expands on the available Tera Raid Battles in the Paldea region, making certain Pokémon more common for a limited time. It can be accessed via Mystery Gift or updated automatically by connecting to the internet in game. Certain species of Terastal Pokémon, which are usually very rare, are often made more common through Poké Portal News events. These event Tera Raids will appear on the map and mini-map with a unique icon.

The following lists, in reverse chronological order, different Tera Raid Battle events. The event periods for the given dates typically last between 00:00 UTC on the initial date, to 23:59 UTC on the end date.

The 5th Tera Raid Battle event was Cinderace with the Mightiest Mark, granting the title Cinderace the Unrivaled (Japanese: 最強のエースバーン The Strongest Aceburn), appeared at 7★ black Tera Raid crystals during two time periods: from December 30, 2022 to January 1, 2023, then again from January 13 to 15, 2023. Cinderace cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, and the Cinderace appearing during this event has Fighting as its Tera Type. This Cinderace could only be caught once per save file, although the Tera Raid Battle could be attended repeatedly for additional item rewards. The 4th Tera Raid Battle event was Present from Delibird (Japanese: デリバードからのプレゼント! Present from Delibird). Delibird with random Tera Types will be appearing more frequently in Tera Raid Battles from December 23 to 25, 2022.[2]

Delibird found in 3★, 4★, and 5★ raids had the chance to have their Hidden Ability of Insomnia.

Item rewards for 5★ raids included a guaranteed set of 17 Tera Shards, (19 if the player is the host). Specifically: 2 Shards, (4 if the player is the host), matching the Tera Type of the Delibird, and 5 Shards each of 3 different types.

The 3rd Tera Raid Battle event was the Tyranitar and Salemence Spotlight (Japanese: ピックアップ! バンギラス & ボーマンダ Pickup! Bangiras & Bowmanda). Tyranitar and Salamence with random Tera Types appeared more frequently in 4★ and 5★ Tera Raid Battles from December 9 to 11, 2022, with Tyranitar being found in Pokémon Scarlet, and Salamence being found in Pokémon Violet respectively.[3]

In addition to 4 randomized raids, 1 daily raid was guaranteed to be 5★ with a fixed tera type. Scarlet players have access to a 5★ Tyranitar den with a Ghost Tera Type, while Violet players have access to a 5★ Salamence den with a Steel Tera Type.

This was scheduled to occur between the two Charizard the Unrivaled 7★ raid event periods, with Charizard raids resuming starting December 16 and ending December 18, 2022.

The Charizard always had all six IVs set to 31, and was coded never to appear as Shiny. During battle, it also had access to the moves Overheat, Tera Blast, Sunny Day, and Inferno, although these moves are not present after being caught.

Item rewards included guaranteed 6 Exp. Candy L, and 4 Exp. Candy XL, 5 Calcium, 15 Dragon Tera Shards, 1 TM157 (Overheat), and 1 Ability Patch, with a chance for additional miscellaneous rewards.

The event additionally contained special 4★ and 5★ raids for Florges and Mimikyu, which unlike Charizard had standard odds of appearing as Shiny.

The 1st Tera Raid Battle event was Eevee Spotlight (Japanese: イーブイピックアップ Eievui Pickup). Eevee with various Tera Types appeared more frequently in Tera Raid Battles from November 25 to 27, 2022.[7][8]

Eevee found in 3★, 4★, and 5★ raids had the chance to have their Hidden Ability of Anticipation.

Item rewards included a chance to obtain certain items, such as Soothe Bells, Bottle Caps, Ability Capsules, PP Up, as well as Water, Fire, Thunder, Leaf, and Ice Stones.
