Pidgeot (Japanese: ピジョット Pigeot) is a dual-typed Normal/Flying Pokémon. It is the fully evolved form of Pidgey, one of the most common Pokémon in the Generation I and Generation II games.
Pidgeot can come with the ability Keen Eye, which prevents accuracy reduction, or the ability Tangled Feet, which increases evasion when Pidgeot is confused. Pidgeot evolves from Pidgeotto starting at level 36.
Biology
Physiology
Pidgeot bares striking resemblance to Pidgeotto; however, Pidgeot is noticeably larger than is pre-evolution. Its plumage tends to be larger and glossier. The feathers on its head-crest are nearly as long as its body, and are yellow and red. Its tail feathers are red colored. Like its previous evolutions, its underbelly is a tan color, and it has black markings around its eyes.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Pidgeot is a powerful flier, capable of creating whirlwinds strong enough to bend trees. It can reach speeds of Mach 2.
Behavior
Pidgeot are normally calm and confident in their abilities. It has many powerful attacks, and beautiful plumage, making it a popular choice for skilled trainers.
Habitat
Pidgeot typically dwell in forests with thick growth and large trees.

In Mewtwo Strikes Back, a Pidgeot was captured and cloned by Mewtwo. It was referred to as a Pidgeotto due to a dubbing error.
A Pidgeot belonging to Rudy appeared in Misty Meets Her Match.

Trivia
- Pidgeot originally had an extra "t" in its name, but it was dropped.
- There is an error on Pidgeot's Generation II and Generation III backsprites. The 'hair' on its head is shorter than it is on the front sprite.
Origin
Despite its name, its appearance and behavior do not resemble a pigeon so much as that of a bird of prey, particularly an osprey.
Name origin
Its name may just be a variation of pigeon, but depending on how one pronounces it, the word jet may be incorporated into its name.
In other languages
- German: Tauboss
- French: Roucarnage - Roucoule means coo, and carnage is the same as in English.

- Chinese (Hong Kong): 大比鳥 Dái Bî Nîao - In relation to the name of its pre-evolved form, Pidgeotto, this name literally means 'big Pidgeotto'.
