Twister (Japanese: たつまき Twister) is a damage-dealing Dragon-type move introduced in Generation II.

Effect

Generation II

Twister inflicts damage and has a 20% chance of causing each target to flinch. It will hit all adjacent opponents in battles featuring multiple Pokémon.

Twister can hit a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly and Bounce, and if it does, will deal double the damage.

Generation III

Twister is now affected by King's Rock.

Generation IV

If Twister hits a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly or Bounce, its power will now be doubled instead of the damage dealt (resulting in virtually the same effect).

Generation V onwards

Twister can now hit a Pokémon during the semi-invulnerable turns of Fly, Bounce and Sky Drop, and if it does, will deal double the damage (rather than double in power).

Twister will knock down Berries growing on Berry trees found in the background of battles.

Twister is no longer affected by King's Rock.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Twister targets only one Pokémon, like all other moves in this game. It lowers the target's action speed.
