Remoraid (Japanese: テッポウオ Teppouo; German: Remoraid; French: Remoraid; Korean: 총어 Chongeo) is a Water-type Pokémon first seen in the Generation II games. It often clings to a Mantine's underside to scavenge for food.
Remoraid has the Ability Hustle, which raises the power of physical attacks by 50%, but reduces accuracy to 80% of normal.
Remoraid evolves into Octillery starting at Level 25.
Pokédex entries
- Pokémon Emerald
- A Remoraid uses its abdominal muscles to forcefully expel swallowed water, then shoot down flying prey. When evolution approaches, it travels down rivers.
Name origin
Remoraid's name may be a combination of remora and raid, as in a rapid attack. It may also be taken to incorporate the word mermaid into the name. The teppou it its Japanese name is probably 鉄砲 teppō, gun, as in Water Gun.
Its fame for shooting attacks is like an archerfish, however in all other regards it seems to be based on a remora.
