Synopsis

• As of this episode, every member of Ash's Sinnoh team, other than Gliscor, has been used in at least two gym battles, and Grotle, Pikachu, and Buizel have been used in three. This also includes Aipom, who is no longer a member of Ash's team.
• This is the first episode where a Pokémon Contest and a Gym Battle are depicted in the same episode.
• Jessie is not seen in her standard Team Rocket uniform throughout this episode, instead remaining in her Jessalina disguise for the Kawarake Contest.
