Giga Impact (Japanese: ギガインパクト Giga Impact) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV. It is identical to Hyper Beam, except that it is a Physical attack rather than a Special one.
Giga Impact was introduced because, in Generation IV, Hyper Beam was put in the Special category. This move uses the Attack stat, like the old Hyper Beam. Almost every Pokémon that can learn Hyper Beam through TM15 can learn Giga Impact through TM68, and vice versa.
Effect
Giga Impact deals a large amount of damage and then forces the user to recharge during the next turn. Unless this attack misses, the user will always have to recharge.

Trivia
- Aerodactyl is the only Pokémon that learns both Hyper Beam and Giga Impact by level.
- Strangely, despite being among the lightest Pokémon (only surpassed by Gastly and Haunter), all members of the lake trio can learn this move.
- Normally, only fully-evolved Pokémon can learn this move. However, some Pokémon that are not fully evolved but were in a previous generation (such as Porygon, Porygon2, Seadra, or Lickitung) may also learn this move, despite the fact it was introduced during Generation IV.
In other languages
- French: Giga Impact
- Spanish: Giga Impacto
- Italian: Gigaimpatto
- German: Gigastoß
