Even though Lickitung can only evolve into Berubelt in Generation IV onwards, a Lickitung knowing Rollout can be caught as a Shadow Pokémon in Pokémon XD, and any Lickitung can be taught Rollout using the Move Tutor in Pokémon Emerald and by TM04 in Generation II.

Bero, part of this Pokémon's name, may be a reference to the sound effect of slurping and the word tongue in Japanese.
