Refresh (Japanese: リフレッシュ Refresh) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation III.

Effect

Generation III to VII

Refresh cures the user of burns, poison, or paralysis. It cannot cure freeze or sleep, so Refresh will fail if it is called by Sleep Talk.

Refresh can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 1 bonus appeal point if Sing or Water Sport was used in the previous turn.

If powered up by a Normalium Z into Z-Refresh, the user regains all of its HP.

Generation VIII onwards

Refresh cannot be selected in a battle.

Trivia

  • In Generation III, the status screen erroneously states that the move has 100% accuracy, even though it targets the user (thus it ignores accuracy and evasion checks).
