Gym Badges
Does anyone have a picture of Ash's Sinnoh gym badges?
Ash's Gible...
Look, I tried to insert it in because it's fact that he's getting one. If it was just people talking on the forum, then I could let it stay off. However, we have had a Yahoo Japanese Shopping Catalogue AND Amazon.com explicitly refer to a Gible Toy that's being released as being "Ash's Gible". THAT'S why it needs to be in this article's trivia section, if anywhere. Don't believe me? Check these out:
Ok, so technically, number two was a forum post, but it supplied the translation of what #1 said. For number 3, here's the Japanese Text:
商品紹介 ポケモンがわざを繰り出す瞬間を立 化した『キメわざポケモンキッズ』D Pシリーズ第4弾。幻のポケモンの「ア ルセウス」「ジラーチ」を中心にル ー・サファイヤの初期ポケモンであ 「キモリ」「アチャモ」「ミズゴロ ウ」もラインナップ。さらにサトシ 新たなる仲間のポケモンとなる「フ マル」をラインナップしている。( 全15種類)
Also, Babelfish did a translation on the last portion of the sentence, and here's what it said:
"Furthermore it becomes [pokemon] of the companion where [satoshi] becomes new “[fukamaru]” is lined up. (All the 15 types)"

- Simple, they said "by the end of the year". If they were referring to DP145, they wouldn't have said "by the end of the year" (By the end of the year implies that it would happen by the last week of December, not in the middle of September). Weedle Mchairybug 19:56, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
- End of the year doesn't always mean the last week of December. Sometimes it can mean the beginning of Fall. The episode aired October 1st. They saw the air date and just said "the end of the year". And for all I know, it's not an accurate translation. It's best to keep this off the pages. --ケンジのガール 20:01, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Regarding the section about Ash as a character
Much of it is convoluted and poorly constructed. The problem appears to be that new contributions are not seamlessly integrated with those already in place, resulting in a lack of observable rhyme or reason. This hinders the flow of the writing, making the entire segment sub-par.
Bulbapedia has standards for a reason, and it is to avoid something like this happening as the result of numerous individuals contributing to one article. As it stands, I feel the entire section should be cleaned up and revised. Vipera 21:16, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

- Forgive me if I misinterpreted the tone of your comment, but I read it as being awfully snide.

- I've already done some minor stylistic and grammatical revision to the section in question and plan to overhaul it using the information already present, but that's about all I can do. I'm not as knowledgeable about Ash as most others here since I'm only up to EP224 and therefore hesitant to make contributions in the form of information - I would likely be mistaken on many subjects since my anime experience is incomplete at best and woefully lacking at the very worst.
- The appeal of a wiki lies in the fact that multiple users can contribute to a single article in numerous ways, as each brings to the table different skill sets and areas of expertise. That is why I've called attention to this issue. I can't make the necessary improvements alone. Vipera 06:27, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
- Uh, sorry. I didn't mean it like that and I don't consider myself to be a "snide" person. I was merely trying to encourage you to be bold and take on the section. I know less about the anime than you do, otherwise I'd offer help as well. One of the things I enjoy about a wiki is going out and editing something, and watching how others adapt and improve my own work. —darklordtrom 08:36, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Telepathic side of Aura and Pikachu
I was thinking, is it possible that Ash was using Latent Aura powers to understand Pikachu? I know it wasn't invented till gen 4, but it's something to mention as a possibility. --Jono R 22:50, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Azelf
I think Azelf should be added, because not only was it legendary. But also because Ash commanded it and he actually had a telepathic bond to it. Aside from Riolu how often does that happen? --Dman dustin 22:59, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
- Didn't do it for Riolu, why do it for Azelf? --ケンジのガール 23:01, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'm going to say that it's because Azelf had more of a story than Riolu. This whole Pixie storyline began with Dawn and Mesprit. Which culminated to DP151 and DP152. Where we have Ash, Brock, and Dawn being telepathically connected to the pixies. Ash, Brock, and Dawn could feel when something bad happened to them. And when the pixies were in real trouble, the human trio teleported to them from Cynthia's Jeep right in the middle of Team Galactic's headquarters. Then when Ash, Brock, and Dawn saved them from the red crystal/chain the pixies allowed them to order them commands. Besides how are Raichu, Spoink, and Mantyke more notable? Raichu only got an episode while Spoink and Mantyke got very little screen time. How they are more notable then Riolu or Azelf is beyond me. --Dman dustin 02:25, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- My two cents: I think Ash's connection with Azelf is totally important, and I was very nearly about to side with you, but after thinking about it I figured that if Azelf were to be added, it would have to be in a "befriended" section. And if we gave Ash a "befriended" section, then we'd have to list ALL the Pokemon he befriended, and I think that alone could very well crash the server. (An exaggeration, but you get the point.) But their connection should still be mentioned - and I think it's possibly even important enough to be given its own paragraph in the "character" section, instead of just being added on to the paragraph about his connection with legendary Pokemon. I say this because there was buildup to this over the course of DP, and is thus monumental enough to have quite a bit said about it. The same goes for Dawn and Brock, and their respective pixies. 梅子❀✿ 02:47, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Hoenn Lineup Trivia
Should it be noted that each of the Pokémon Ash caught in Hoenn was weak to the type of the Pokémon that was placed on his Hoenn line up before it? If that didn't make sense, here is a bit better/ easier way of explaining it: Pikachu/Electric > Tailow/Flying > Treecko/Grass > Corphish/Water > Torkoal/Fire > Snorunt/Ice. Ash's Legendary Friends
I couldn't find any edit button on Ash's page and I couldn't figure out how to contact the mods of this site, so I brought my question here; please let me know if this is not the place or if this is not how to get information.
I was reading Ash's page when I came suddenly to Ash's Legendary friends, it claims he has a close connection with Ho-Oh, Lugia, Latias, Azelf, Shaymin and Giratina. Where is Mewtwo? The two had a rough start but Ash also has a close connection to Mewtwo. Afterall, It was Ash who softened Mewtwo in the first movie and in the Pokemon Special: Mewtwo's Return, Mewtwo calls Ash and "Unique human, one of a kind." and they part by saying how they'll always remember each other. Mewtwo is also able to contact Ash even over long distances. I think Mewtwo should be added to that list of Ash's legendary friends. - unsigned comment from Artbender (talk • contribs)
- Ash's page is currently protected due to upcoming anime things. Mewtwo's kinda... I dunno. I suppose you could say that he and Ash have a friendship, but as for any ability to contact Ash? Um. Wha? TTEchidna 10:34, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- I think he's talking about when Ash heard Mewtwo's voice at the end of Mewtwo Returns. Mewtwo may have just been hiding in the city somewhere, so who knows exactly how far away they were, but I recall reading somewhere on Bulbapedia that the city they then show Mewtwo watching over/hiding in resembles New York City, so it could be assumed that he was far away. But even if that part is left out, I'd definitely include Mewtwo as one of Ash's legendary friends. --Jared 22:35, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Thank you, Jared! that's exactly what I ment. - unsigned comment from Artbender (talk • contribs) Mewtwo is not one of Ash's Legendary friends. At the end of movie 1, Mewtwo erases everyones memory, including Ash's. Ash does not remember Mewtwo, and Mewtwo does not use his telepathy to contact Ash at all... and that includes Mewtwo Returns. Pokemon26 13:30, 19 July 2010
Yes he does. They become friends by the ends of Mewtwo Returns, and by what Ash says; "This time, we'll both remember." It suggests that Mewtwo gave Ash's memories of their first meeting back. Artbender 04:55, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
about gym battles
it is revealed that sunyshore gym battle will be in DP164 so please it is not 35 it is 37 episodes--Branfili 17:55, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- It is revealed that Volkner will appear in DP165, but there is nothing confirming a gym battle, or badge acquisition. I guess the episode count should be changed at this point though - apparently it's said "35 episodes" for about three weeks now. 梅子❄❅ 19:04, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
The Gym battle (first time) is in DP 166. Sunyshore Gym will shut down because of a power outage during the battle. Volkner will ask Ash to come back when it is repaired. Ash says that he will use the time for more training. Ash comes back to Sunyshore in DP 179, where he has his battle and wins. That should be where the badge acquisition is. pokemon26 13:24, 19 july 2010 Pokemon26 13:25, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Identifying Genders
I was wondering if it would be a good idea to identify a Pokémon's gender (when confirmed) for a main character in the new link boxes. For example:
Pikachu ♂ |
Buizel ♂ |
Gible ♂ |
Bulbasaur ♂ |
Chikorita → Bayleef ♀ |
File:AshAipom.png Aipom ♀ |
Just this is the way it's displayed for the manga characters, so we might as well implement it for the anime characters as well. What does everyone think? Watchermark 12:56, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- The problem is that most Pokémon in the anime don't have confirmed genders. Only.... 25% maybe. Give or take a few. And are you asking that we use the link boxes for only the ones that have been confirmed? Or use it for all, but keep the genders off? R.A. Hunter Blade 13:30, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- Keep the link boxes for all, but keep the genders off the ones that aren't confirmed. Ash's party would look like:
Pikachu ♂ |
Starly → Staravia → Staraptor ♂ |
Turtwig → Grotle |
Chimchar → Monferno |
Buizel ♂ |
Gible♂ |

Obsolete trivia
Could someone remove this?
The three Fire-type starter Pokémon Ash owns are each at a different evolutionary stage. Cyndaquil is in its first, Monferno its second, and Charizard its third.
Monferno evolved in the latest episode, so it's no longer true. Also, if that was worthy of being mentioned, then perhaps it should be mentioned that Kingler is the only water-type Pokémon he's evolved so far. --エルレイド 08:41, 13 February 2010 (UTC)
- This is Obsolete and should be removed. I'm surprise no one tried to make a similar trivia saying that, "out of all the grass types he has"
- It should at least be changed to something more trivial and up to date. Like how Ash has never evolved a Water-type Starter to its final form, but has evolved one grass type and two fire types.
- Please will a mod remove the thing, or re-enable the edit feature. why is the edit feature even disabled? it makes it a hassle to do much of anything in terms of doing our jobs as editors and collaborators. Yami 01:52, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Hair color
Don't know if it was mentioned before, but anyone noticed Ash's hair has a greenish shade to it? It isn't just pure black so I think it should be put up in the infobox. J-J-M 14:31, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

- Can't believe that actually happened either..... but anyways. If you didn't notice, his hair only has a greenish tint when it's wet. That's normal for an anime to have a tint on wet hair, though it depends on the original color. R.A. Hunter Blade 22:27, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Satoshi's Pokemon on Pokeani
I've been going through and fixing broken Pokeani links, and I noticed that Ash doesn't have a link to his Pokeani list of Pokemon - and it seems he's the only main character who doesn't have such a link on his page. I'm assuming it's because his list of Pokemon is broken into two different pages (being such a massive list and all), but it kind of seems ridiculous that ASH "JESUS H. CHRIST" KETCHUM is the only one deprived of those links.
What do you guys think? Should they be added to the "external links" section (listed as "part one" and "part two" or something along those lines)?? 梅子❀✿ 15:58, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Oh ok then!-lilkaykaygal, 7:40, 5 July 2010 (UTC) Ash went down to 4 because of the Suzaran Conference. He wanted to use his older pokemon. Notice that most of the ones he intends to use of his older crew are Johto pokemon, with the exception of Muk, Staraptor, Gible, Snorlax, and of Course, Pikachu. This coincides with Heartgold/Soulsilver. When Ash battles Paul (DP 186-187), he will probably have his full Sinnoh crew, but we shall see. - We should mention it. Just mention that she is not saying this on behalf of 4kids. The possibility that she is mistaken herself and that 4Kids might of had some other name for Ash. - Vhayes1992 18:50, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- I put it in. I wonder if this was just a place holder, or this was going to be his real name. Casey means vigilant in some cultures, which means to watch out for danger, which makes sense as that's is one of the things he does in the series. This also makes me think that there might not have been a last name too.--Midnight Blue 21:21, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Ash's Pokémon On Hand Box?
Hello I am a long time fan of Bulbapedia, brand new editor. I noticed something weird on Ash's page. In the page itself, in the section on what Pokémon Ash has On Hand, it has the Pokémon for next week's episode (Noctowl, Donphan and Gible), when he battles Conway. However, in the little box that is on the bottom of the page that is supposed to show the same thing, it has his Pokemon from last week's episode, when he battled Nando (Heracross, Quilava and Staraptor). It is likewise on all of the pages that link to Ash's page (i.e. on all of the pages of his Pokémon). Can someone fix this? I would do it myself, but like I said, I am brand new to editing and I don't know how.

Ash's On Hand Pokemon
I'm just thinking not to bother having an on hand section for Ash's Pokemon because it keeps changing. I think you should just have like maybe Ash's Pokemon but not write on hand or at Professor Oak's Lab. lilkaykaygal , 12:10, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- Nah, that will be confusing enough. The current pattern is perfect. The reason it keeps changing is because of on-going sinnoh league. Once it is over, it will be back to normal. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 12:15, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Staraptor is Missing
While this may already be fixed or is being fixed, I should point out that Staraptor is missing from Ash's Pokemon Party Sprite Template. You know the template that appears when you have Ash's Buizel open and it shows Ash's other Pokemon. it goes Glalie, Torterra, Infernape, and Buizel, but Staraptor is missing. In case this is already known, I apologize, I just wanted to let you know, just in case. --Dman dustin 04:16, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Casey's Beedril
Perhaps move this to temporary Pokemon? It was so minuscule and was for a contest, like Seaking. Having it listed on the template looks a little cluttered.--Cubic Question 05:32, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- There is one thing that distinguishes Beedrill from Seaking: Ash was actually allowed to keep the Beedrill as per the rules of the contest, whereas he couldn't keep Seaking. As such, Ash did officially own Beedrill, even if it was for about two minutes before he gave it away. --Shiningpikablu252 16:07, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Ash's on hand pokemon
Could you change Ash's on hand pokemon to his original sinnoh team? Pikachu, Torterra, Staraptor, Buizel, Infernape and Gliscor... Since DP 186 has aired and its confirmed on DP 187 preview...? Chomi 17:40, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
Isshu Clothing
Should we put ash in his isshu clothing as the main picture in the infobox? --Daniel1993 18:43, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't think we should yet, I'd wait till Diamond and Pearl is over and BW001 has aired. --PickyChimchar 18:53, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- No, Diamond and Pearl is still airing, Best Wishes is not. --HoennMaster 18:58, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Challenges
Is it worthwhile pointing out that, out of Ash's full batles, the only ones he has lost and his opponent has more than one pokémon remaining he only managed to defeat 2 pokémon of his opponent. Being these his first full batle against Paul and his league batle against Takuto Luord 01:43, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Isshu Clothing based on black outfit
can we add in the trivia that ash isshu clothing is based on black ( male character ) because they have the same pants and the same baskets , even his hat is based on black's one the only change is color . - unsigned comment from Amine (talk • contribs)
Eyes
Has anyone but me noticed that Ash's eyes are more brown? I think that represents Sugimori's art change I mean think about, if you look at lucas and dawn's platnum art, Gold and soul's art, and black and white's art, the eyes are a lot bigger compared to red and leaf's art, brendan and may's art, and lucas and dawn's D/P art.
