Trivia
- No other Pokémon that share its type combination with Kirikizan and its pre-evolutionary form.
- The types it has are coincidentally the two types introduced in Generation II.
Origin
Its color scheme, metal typing, and humanoid appearance may be a reference to Metal Man, a Robot Master from the second installment of the Mega Man Classic Series. It also looks similar to a knight and may be based on Arthurian legends of black knights. It may also have gained origin from the Kaijin style of Japanese monster movies, involving a humanoid creature that acts as a villian.
Name origin
Its name is probably derived from 切り刻む kirikizamu, to mince.
