(Japanese: ゴルーグ Goruugu) is a dual-type Ground/Ghost Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

It evolves from Gobitto at level 43.

Biology

Physiology

Goruugu resembles a suit of armor possessed by a ghost. It has a small head compared to its body, and large bangles on all its limbs. There is also a crack across the chest of the armor which is patched diagonally in the opposite orientation which resembles a belt. It has a crystal-like formation on its shoulders. It has a Roman-armor-like "skirt" and flat feet beneath.

Trivia

  • According to Game Freak, Goruugu, along with its pre-evolution were not designed nor created by Ken Sugimori. They were created by James Turner, making them the first Pokémon to be designed by an American.[1]
  • No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Goruugu and its pre-evolution.
  • Goruugu has the highest base Attack of all Ghost-type Pokémon.
  • Goruugu is the only Generation V Pokémon that learns Heavy Bomber by leveling up.
  • Goruugu is only one of four non-Flying-type, non-levitating, non-legendary Pokémon that can learn Fly, the other three being Smeargle, flying Pikachu, and Ulgamoth.
