Crobat (Japanese: クロバット Crobat) is a dual-type Poison/Flying Pokémon.
It evolves from Golbat via happiness. It is the final form of Zubat.
Biology
Physiology
Crobat has a purple body as opposed to being blue, like its pre-evolutions. Crobat has a stubby pair of feet, and has developed a second pair of wings with greenish-blue undersides and two stubby ‘fingers’. Crobat’s pointed ears are longer than Golbat’s, and, unlike its pre-evolutions, appear to lack ear insides. Crobat’s mouth is smaller in comparison to Golbat’s, and appears to constantly have its teeth bared. Crobat's eyes are yellow with red pupils.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Crobat's extra pair of wings allow it to fly much faster than its predecessors. Crobat's wings have also developed a more powerful cutting edge for using Cross Poison and X-Scissor.
Like most fully evolved Pokémon, Crobat can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact.
Behavior
Like its pre-evolutions, Crobat becomes active at night. If Crobat is flying by fluttering only a pair of wings on either the forelegs or hind legs, it's proof that Crobat has been flying a long distance. It switches the wings it uses if it is tired. By alternately resting its front and rear wings, it can fly all day without having to stop. Crobat rests by hanging on a tree branch with its rear legs that serve as wings.
Habitat
Crobat is a cave-dwelling Pokémon, however it is likely that they flutter outside during the night.
Diet

Several Crobat appeared in Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! Part One, employed by the followers of Hunter J.
Crobat made a small appearance in The Rise of Darkrai as one of the Pokémon Darkrai hit with a Dark Void attack as the other trainers were attacking him.

In the manga
Pokémon Adventures
In Volume 11, Janine uses a Crobat to fight Suicune, but even her best ninja-based skills fail to defeat the legendary Water-type.
In the following volume, a herd of Crobat, Zubat, and Golbat attacked Misty, Brock, and Erika in the Tohjo Falls.
Giovanni is later seen with a Crobat in Volume 24, presumably picked up during his solo training journey.
In the TCG

Other appearances
Crobat only appears as a random trophy.
Trophy information
A Bat Pokémon that evolves from Golbat, Crobat's hind legs have evolved into a second pair of wings, which allows it to fly at great speeds but limits its ability to rest. The affection a Golbat has for its Trainer is vital for the evolution process: if a novice Trainer has a Crobat, it shows that he or she cares for Pokémon well.

Trivia
- Despite the fact that the Pokédex information says that Crobat's rear legs and rear wings are the same body part, Crobat clearly has a set of feet and legs distinct from its hind wings depicted in the rear sprites in Generation III, front sprites in Generation V as well as in the anime, TCG, and 3D games. However, the footprint in the Pokédex for Crobat is blank.
- Since its debut in Generation II, Crobat's color scheme has been Golbat's color scheme, inverted. This also applies to its shiny variation.
- In recent 3-D games, it is revealed that Crobat has teeth only in its lower jaw.
- This is also shown in Pokémon Ranger, when it uses its attack.
- Though, in the Generation II sprites, Crobat has its teeth on the upper jaw.
- Crobat has the highest base stat total of all Template:Type2 Pokémon.
- Crobat is the fastest Template:Type2 Pokémon, with a base Speed of 130.
- Crobat is the only Pokémon of its body type (type 13) that is not Template:Type2 or in the Bug Egg Group.
- Prior to Generation IV, Crobat was the only member of the Zubat evolutionary line that could learn Fly.
- Crobat is the first Pokémon in the National Pokédex to be related by evolution to a Pokémon from a previous generation.
- Crobat is the first Pokémon in the Oblivia Browser that is a boss.
Origin
Crobat is based on a bat.
Name origin
Crobat's name is a combination of cross and bat. It may also be a combination of 黒 kuro, black, and English bat. It may also be a pun on acrobat.
In other languages
- German: Iksbat - The letter X is pronounced Iks in German, might refer to the arrangement of its wings.
- French: Nostenfer - From nocturne (nocturnal) or Nosferatu, and Enfer (Hell).
- Korean: 크로뱃 Keurobaet
- Chinese (Taiwan): 叉字蝠 Chā Zì Fú - "X-shaped bat".
