Mienshao (Japanese: コジョンド Kojondo) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves from Mienfoo starting at level 50.
Biology
Physiology
Mienshao is light purple, long bodied Pokémon. Its head is small in size and has small, triangle shaped ears. Its forehead has a purple spot adorning it as well as a yellow one on its snout. It possesses a pair of long, yellow tipped whiskers which have split ends. Its arms are almost completely covered by a large amount of fur that is tipped in purple and split at the end. This arm fur is used as a weapon in battle and acts like a battle whip. Its torso has one purple ring of fur around its midsection. It also has purple fur on the bottom section of the torso, which resemble pants, and its bottom paws are clawed. It has a long, skinny tail that, like its paw fur, is tipped purple and split at its end.

Trivia
- Mienshao and its pre-evolution Mienfoo are the only Generation V Pokémon to learn Aura Sphere.
- They are both also the only non-legendary Pokémon with higher Attack than Special Attack who can learn this move.
- Despite its Pokédex entry stating that its attacks come with extreme rapidity, Mienshao can't learn any variation of Quick Attack, including Quick Attack itself.
- It can however learn Fake Out which allows it to strike first on the first turn.
Origin
Mienshao seems to be based on a Mustelid and also seems to have drawn inspiration from whip fighting as well as a variety of martial arts, such as Taekwondo and Kokondo.
Name origin
Mienshao may be a combination of ermine and Shaolin.
Kojondo might be a combination of オコジョ okojo, the Japanese word for an ermine, and Taekwondo. It is also likely to be a skewed form of Kokondo, a form of Japanese-based martial arts founded in the United States.
