Well hello there, and welcome to my page. Since you're here, you're probably a little curious who this "Jo The Marten" person is. Well...it's me! Hello again! I came to this tiny site years ago, back when it was still just a baby. I registered back in October of 2006 but only made two edits. I made a small come back in 2008 where I'd lurk and fix spelling errors and add little tidbits to the episode pages, just in my free time. When PokéPark Wii came out, I noticed I was one of the few people to actually own it on its release date, so I took advantage of that fact and created pages for all of the PokéPark Zones. This essentially got me noticed by the staff and from there I got to become good friends with most of them. A few months later I found myself Co-leading a project, earning a sparkly gold user tag, and a promotion to Junior Administrator. Please feel free to ask me anything if you need help. Don't worry, I've had all my shots.
Now...as for me, I'm not that special. I'm a college student, I want to be involved in concept and design for video games. Maybe even for Game Freak or TPCi some day. ;) But for now, I'm here. And uhm, most of the stuff that could go here is in the user boxes to the right. Favorite color is red, favorite animals are Martens (hence the user name), and my name is really Jo (well it's a nickname at least) so now you know the reason for my user name. I also go by Venatorphile or just Venator for short in some locations. I quite like the Left 4 Dead series and my favorite Infected was the Hunter, and the Latin word for Hunter is "Venator". Then since I liked them so much, I slapped '-phile' on the end which means "to love" so "One who loves Hunters".
I'm typically a very reserved person. I like to be left alone and left out of conflicts. So if you catch me working on a project, I'd like to be left to that and not have unwanted assistance. As nice as it may seem, it only causes edit conflicts and possibly more work. Wait for me to finish to contribute please, if you'd be so kind. Aside from that, I try to be on my best behavior while here. I like to help whenever I can and keep things short and sweet rather than producing a wall of text. So again, if you ever need any help with anything, feel free to ask me. I'll answer in the best way I can.
Now what about Pokémon? That's what you all care about (don't try to hide it. Why else would you be on this site?) It started when the anime came to the states back in 1998 (I was 6 at the time) and I would watch it with my siblings. They both had Red and Blue respectively but I didn't have a game of my own for months. Finally, I got Yellow on Xmas day when I was 7. So my siblings and I made a complete set of Red, Blue, and Yellow. It didn't last though, because they moved on to other things when Generation II came around. I, however, got Silver version and loved it. Then Generation III came around and I snagged a Ruby version, and later bought Sapphire so I could get version exclusives since I was in junior high and people who liked Pokémon (or at least admitted to it) were far and few. I got the remake, FireRed, and then pre-ordered Diamond where I got the Dialga stylus as well as a pin that was only available on the Pokémon Center website (which doesn't exist anymore). When Platinum came out, I had to have it. Then obviously had to get the remakes of Gen II. Now I own Black and White, and I don't plan on having them be the last in my collection.
Aside from the games, I've also got a collection of Pokémon cards. I collect cards by Masakazu Fukuda as well as Hajime Kusajima. I was recently taught how to play the game, so now I'll go to a few local leagues and play against others. I also enjoy the new Online card game. My most prized collection is that of my Pokémon toys however. I've got figurines, plushies, backpacks, clothes, etc. ranging somewhere in the 300s and increasing every other day.
