Cotton Spore (Japanese: わたほうし Cotton Spore) is a non-damaging Grass-type move introduced in Generation II.
Effect
Generations II to IV
Cotton Spore lowers the target's Speed stat by two stages and has an accuracy of 85.
In Double Battles, Cotton Spore may target any single foe or ally.
Generation V
The accuracy of Cotton Spore is increased to 100.
Generation VI onwards
Grass-type Pokémon, Pokémon with Overcoat, and Pokémon holding the Safety Goggles are now immune to Cotton Spore.
In Double and Triple Battles, Cotton Spore now targets all adjacent foes.
If powered up by a Grassium Z into Z-Cotton Spore, all of the user's lowered stats are reset.
