Bibarel (Japanese: ビーダル Beadull) is a Normal/Water-type Pokémon.

It is notable for being one of only two Normal dual-type Pokémon that is not part Flying, the other being Girafarig.

Behavior

Bibarel are known to be industrious workers and act as such when making their nests out of mud and wood.

Habitat

Bibarel live in rivers. They make their nests out of dams they construct of mud and wood.

Bibarel made its anime debut in brief cameos in DP001, appearing in the wild.

A Bibarel also appeared in DP057, under the ownership of Ishisu.

Paul's brother, Reiji, owns a Bibarel which appeared in DP066.

Bibarel is based on a beaver.

Name origin

  • Its name comes from Beaver and Barrel.
  • Bibarel's Japanese name is derived from the English word beaver and "dull", referring to its simple minded and relaxed manner.
  • Bi and barel refer to double and barrel, due to its attack power being comparable to that of a double barrel shotgun.
