Diamond Storm (Japanese: ダイヤストーム Dia Storm) is a damage-dealing Rock-type move introduced in Generation VI. It is the signature move of Diancie.
Effect
Generation VI
Diamond Storm deals damage. It has a 50% chance to raise the user's Defense by one stage for each Pokémon that it hits. If it increases the user's Defense stat more than once from a single use, the stat raising animation will only play once, but a message stating that its Defense rose will appear for each increase.
Generation VII
Diamond Storm now has a 50% chance to raise the user's Defense by two stages if it hits.
Generation VIII
In Versions 1.0 to 1.2.1 of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Diamond Storm cannot be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 1.3.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in the previous generation.
