Postwick (Japanese: ハロンタウン Furlong Town) is a small town located at the southern end of the Galar region. It is the hometown of the Galarian player character and their rival, Hop. To the north is Route 1 and to the west is the Slumbering Weald.
Slogan
A farming town since days of old, where people and their Pokémon live in close harmony. (Japanese: 昔から 牧場を 営み ポケモンたちと ともに暮らす 町 A farming town since days of old, where people and Pokémon live together.)
Role
After the player leaves their house at the start of the game, an NPC briefly blocks them from advancing onto Route 1; the player then visits Hop's house to learn that Leon has just arrived at Wedgehurst.
After the player and Hop fetch Leon and return to the house, the Champion will give the player and Hop their starter Pokémon at the front yard. The player and Hop then battle. After the battle, leaving the yard area to the west will prompt the plot event where a Wooloo breaks through the gate to the Slumbering Weald.
After the player and Hop leave the Slumbering Weald, the player must speak to Mum before starting their journey.
(The player may answer "no" to the first battle with Hop, but the game will prevent them from leaving the house and yard area until the player answers "yes". After the Wooloo breaks through the gate, the game will prevent the player from moving away from the gate, including to enter their home. Before speaking to Mum, Hop will block the player from continuing onto Route 1.)
Places of interest

Player's house
- Main article: Player's house
The player character lives in this house with their Mum and her Munchlax.
Hop and Leon's house
Hop and Leon live here with their parents and grandparents.
After the player becomes the new Champion, Leon will leave a Poké Ball containing a Charmander on the floor in his room on the second floor with a letter. This Charmander can Gigantamax once it evolves into Charizard.
Demographics
Postwick's population is 5 (not counting the player, Hop and Leon), likely owing to its lack of amenities such as a stadium or Pokémon Center and its relative isolation. This makes it the smallest town in Galar, as well as the entire Pokémon world.

Sword & Shield arc
Postwick briefly appeared in a flashback in Ooh Shiny!! Legendary Equipment. One year before the events of the chapter, Henry had traveled through the town towards the Slumbering Weald in the hopes of seeing the legendary Rusted Sword and Rusted Shield. As he approached the gate leading to the forest, he saw something falling from the sky and into the forest. Casey then appeared, bashing through the gate with her Pokémon. She had recognized the falling objects as Wishing Stars and wanted to get her hands on them. With both of their objectives lying inside the forest, the two Trainers entered it together.
