Poké Portal News
Poké Portal News (Japanese: ポケポータルニュース Poké Portal News) is a feature in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that expands on the available Tera Raid Battles in the Paldea region, making certain Pokémon more common for a limited time. It can be accessed via Mystery Gift or updated automatically by connecting to the internet in game. Certain species of Terastal Pokémon, which are usually very rare, are often made more common through Poké Portal News events. These event Tera Raids will appear on the map and mini-map with a unique icon.
List of Tera Raid Battles
The following lists, in reverse chronological order, different Tera Raid Battle events. The event periods for the given dates typically last between 12:00am UTC on the initial date, to 11:59pm UTC on the end date.
2022
December 9 to 11, 2022
The 3rd Tera Raid Battle event will be the Tyranitar and Salemence Spotlight (Japanese: ピックアップ! バンギラス & ボーマンダ Pickup! Bangiras & Bowmanda). Tyranitar and Salamence with various Tera Types will be appearing more frequently in 4★ and 5★ Tera Raid Battles from December 9 to 11, 2022, with Tyranitar being found in Pokémon Scarlet, and Salamence being found in Pokémon Violet respectively.[1]
This is scheduled to occur between the two Charizard the Unrivaled 7★ raid event periods, with Charizard raids resuming starting December 16 and ending December 18, 2022.
December 2 to 4 & 16 to 18, 2022
The 2nd Tera Raid Battle event was Charizard with the Mightiest Mark, with the title Charizard the Unrivaled (Japanese: 最強のリザードン The Strongest Lizardon), appeared at 7★ black Tera Raid crystals during two time periods: from December 2 to 4, 2022, then again from December 16 to 18, 2022 UTC. Charizard cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, and the Charizard appearing during this event has Dragon as its Tera Type. This Charizard could only be caught once per save file, although the Tera Raid Battle could be attended repeatedly for additional item rewards.[2][3] If players captured Charizard during the December 2 to 4 period, they will be ineligible to capture a second Charizard during the December 16 to 18 period.[4]
The Charizard was always level 100, had a Modest Nature, all six IVs set to 31, its Hidden Ability of Solar Power, and the moveset Dragon Pulse, Fire Blast, Hurricane, and Focus Blast. During battle, it also had access to the moves Overheat, Tera Blast, Sunny Day, and Inferno, although these moves are present after capture. It is also coded never to appear Shiny.
Item rewards included guaranteed 6 Exp. Candy L, and 4 Exp. Candy XL, 5 Calcium, 15 Dragon Tera Shards, 1 TM157 (Overheat), and 1 Ability Patch, with a chance for additional miscellaneous rewards.
The event additionally contained special 4★ and 5★ raids for Florges and Mimikyu, which unlike Charizard had standard odds of appearing as Shiny.
