Information

The Legendary Prism Pokémon Necrozma was the focal Pokémon of the third Gorgeous Star set, making its Pokémon Mezastar debut in both its Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings forms. The fusions were depicted as Grade 6 Superstar Pokémon and, much like an equivalent pair of disks in a Pokémon Ga-Olé set, feature a prism mark. This mark indicated that Ultra Burst Chance! (Japanese: ウルトラバーストチャンス!) would trigger if Necrozma was selected to attack. If players opted to proceed, Necrozma would undergo Ultra Burst and transform into Ultra Necrozma, increasing its Energy to 242 and enabling the use of its signature Z-Move Light That Burns the Sky. Necrozma would remain in this form while still able to battle and only one instance of Ultra Burst could be activated per session.

High-grade Pokémon continued to support other powered-up mechanics in this set: Grade 6 Tyranitar, Pawmot, and Annihilape, plus Grade 5 Wigglytuff and Krookodile could all Terastallize; a pair of Grade 6 Urshifu could Gigantamax; a Grade 6 Darkrai could use Double Move; Grade 5 Galarian Slowbro and Galarian Slowking could both use Chain Attacks; Grade 5 Electivire and Magmortar could both Dynamax; Grade 5 Decidueye, Incineroar, Primarina, and Machamp could all use Z-Moves; and a Grade 5 Altaria could Mega Evolve. Pokémon of Myth Dialga and Palkia were the first Grade 6 Pokémon to support the Super Tag mechanic and featured a differently-colored Super Tag mark on their tags. These tags would trigger Super Tag Attack Chance! (Japanese: スーパータッグわざチャンス!) when attacking for the first time. Grade 5 Hisuian Zoroark and Eelektross were also able to summon Super Tag partners.

The set featured two more Paradox Pokémon: Scream Tail and Iron Bundle, plus nine more Pokémon that could be encountered and obtained as Gorgeous tags: Dialga, Palkia, Darkrai, Hisuian Zoroark, Larvitar, Jigglypuff, Swablu, Cramorant, and Alolan Raichu. Three more Ultra Beasts could also be encountered and obtained from December 21, 2023: Celesteela, Kartana, and Blacephalon.

Starting December 15, 2023 as part of a tie-in with the animated series, Terapagos could randomly appear during Get in Battle! mode. Terapagos could appear any time an opposing Pokémon attacked and shield one of the player's Pokémon, reducing any damage received. This feature remained for the duration of the set.

Players who used a Memory tag at any time from the set's launch until January 31, 2024, would earn a Weekly Stamp. Using a Memory tag with the same saved profile in a subsequent week would earn players another Weekly Stamp. Accumulating two Weekly Stamps would unlock a kadomatsu Fashion Item to commemorate the New Year; four Weekly Stamps would unlock a Superstar Sensor; five Weekly Stamps would unlock a Pawmot Emblem; and six Weekly Stamps would unlock another Superstar Sensor. Players with the Pawmot Emblem would then have a chance to add the Hands-On Pokémon to their Support Pokémon roster during Get in Battle! mode. Players with Memory tags could also obtain three new Partner Pokémon: Mareep, Jangmo-o, and Spheal, which could be evolved through to their final stages by accumulating Star Points. Double Star Points could also be earned in two stints over the course of the set: between December 28, 2023, and January 10, 2024, and between January 25 and February 7, 2024. People with a Mezastar Club account could redeem digital tickets at any time for the duration of this set and scan them on Mezastar machines to unlock exclusive features. These included a Support Pokémon Ticket for a Blaziken and a Present Ticket to unlock a fluffy jumper Fashion Item. A limited Present Ticket for a present box headpiece Fashion Item could be redeemed through the club between December 14 and 27, 2023.

The Trainer and Battle lineup for this set included two returning Trainer classes, Pâtissière and Shop Attendant, a new Trainer class in Majordomo, and a new Star Trainer named Atla. Budding Trainer Momoka also returned in this set, increasing her renown from Talked About Trainer to Most Talked About Trainer, fulfilling a similar role to Hiroki over the course of the second, third, and fourth sets of the Super Tag series. Players with a Mezastar Club account could redeem Battle Tickets for each opponent and unlock new customization options for their avatar. A limited Mezastar Club Battle Ticket was later available as part of the Aye Ai Terastal Battle with Ai! campaign, a ranked event that ran between January 14 and February 7, 2024.[1] Participants would unlock a Mezastar TV logo hoodie Fashion Item upon defeating Ai for the first time; a Fashion Item of Mezastar TV pants was also available to those who cleared the Battle Ticket challenges. Players with the top 100 scores following the end of the campaign were awarded a certificate.

Two limited Trainer Tag Battles were available to play later into the set's duration as part of the Mezastar TV Gorgeous Tag Battle Rush! campaign. Between December 7, 2023, and January 3, 2024, players could challenge Professor M and Mr. J, personas respectively adopted by Mezastar Navigators Masato and J in Mezastar TV episodes. Pairs that defeated Professor M and Mr. J in battle would unlock headwear Fashion Items for their avatars—one depicting the letter "M" and one depicting the letter "J". Between December 21, 2023, and January 3, 2024, players could challenge Tonaai and Santa Sakuraus, festive personas respectively adopted by Mezastar Navigators Ai and Sakura. Santa Sakuraus is a play on Santa Claus, while Tonaai is a play on the word トナカイ, tonkai, Japanese for reindeer. Pairs that defeated Tonaai and Santa Sakuraus in battle would unlock headwear Fashion Items for their avatars—one depicting the letter "A" and one depicting the letter "S".[2]
