Ava (Japanese: エイバ Ava) is the main character of Pokémon: Path to the Peak.
History
In The Club, Ava moved out of town, leaving her old friends behind, as soon as she arrived at the new house, she found an old box with some cards that belonged to her mother and still sad about the move, her father encouraged her to seek new friendships. The next day, already at the new school, she tried to join several clubs and failed to get into all of them. Already giving up on trying to make new friends, she was approached by Joshua, who left a note for her to head to a room.
Joshua explained to Ava the basics of the Pokémon TCG, and Ava decided to reuse her mother's old deck. As a beginner, Ava was easily defeated by Joshua in her first battle. Which infuriated Ava and almost would have given up if she wasn't stopped by her father, who decided to spend the night teaching her how to battle and feel the emotion of the match.
In the morning, Ava decided to battle Joshua again, this time defeating him and the other members of the Pokémon Club and thus receiving recognition to become a member of the group. While celebrating, Ava was approached by a mysterious girl who teased Ava if she could beat the World Championships Players.
In Regionals, Ava participated in her first championship, competing in regional challenges. Her first challenge was a player named Tonio, which she won without much difficulty, meanwhile she discovered that Celestine was battling her father as a way to destabilize her. As she made her way to the finals, Ava was also winning matches.
With that the tournament finals were a best of three between Ava and Celestine. During the match, Ava won one battle and Celestine another, during the final match, Celestine tried to mentally destabilize Ava so that she could not continue. However, upon seeing the emotion of her father and Joshua cheering, Ava managed to pull herself together and evolve her Gloom into Vileplume and use a Allergy Storm, to the surprise of Celestine and the others, this move to function should use a coin, Ava then tried luck and managed to land heads, thus beating her rival and becoming the regional champion of this year's regional competition. Afterwards, Celestine thanked her for leaving and made up with Ava.
At some point before Internationals, Ava started to stand out and became a sensation among Pokémon TCG players and became much closer to Joshua and formed a friendship with Celestine. This caused her to be invited to participate in the International Championships, getting there, she met a girl and her mother who are fans of her and Team Falinks, the highest ranking team in the world and its leader, the current current World Champion, Edgar Troy.
The next day, when moving to the next stage of the competition and seeing that her friends didn't, Ava decided to train hard but in a moment of relaxation and trying to relax a little, she lost all her original deck. Willing to help Ava, Celestine and Joshua got rid of all their cards to create a deck for Ava again, when they managed to exchange all their cards for the main deck that Ava used in the competition, the last card was won as a gift by the small child who Ava met the day before.
Back in the competition, Ava defeated each of the members of Team Falinks, thus catching the attention of Edgar Troy. Upon reaching the final, Ava had a false sense of victory as Edgar gave up the fight in the first round, but soon after began to dominate the match, in the third and final round, Ava initially had the upper hand, but this proved to be part of Edgar's plan , who made a move that forced Ava to shuffle her hand and thus lose all the advantages of the game. From there, Edgar easily defeated Ava, disappointed that she had let down her fans and her friends, Ava left the competition arena apologizing for her loss to Joshua and Celestine.
In Worlds, is that revealed that as the days went by, Ava moved away from Pokémon TCG matches. It was the moment when Ava's parents decided to get involved and Ava's mother told her about her past as a Pokémon player. After making peace with Celestine and Joshua, Ava accepted the invitation to participate in the World Championship.
Before the championship starts, Ava has a new encounter with Edgar, who immediately started teasing Ava, but she decided to move on. In the competition, Ava was able to beat her opponents and reach the final, thus once again coming face to face with Edgar. The match started in a similar way to the previous one, with Edgar repeating some movements. In the third and final round, Ava realized that her friends and family were on her side, and started laughing, which eventually made Edgar uncomfortable.
Close to victory, Edgar was about to make his Groudon attack with full force, while Ava only had Oddish on her bench. Before starting the decisive battle, Edgar emphasized to Ava that the real reason for the game is to win. After that, Ava revealed that she had created a strategy for the match and after making Edgar understand the real reason for her to play, they both decided to just have fun while playing. With the cheers of everyone she met along the way, Ava beat Edgar Troy and became the new World Champion.
