201

The player first encounters the three Beheeyem when they enter the Pokémon world, with the Beheeyem attacking the player for no apparent reason. Escaping with the help of Nuzleaf, the player ends up in Serene Village with the Beheeyem no longer in sight.

The Beheeyem are next seen at the Prehistoric Ruins, where one half of the Expedition Society are led to by an inscription on a stone tablet left on Showdown Mountain. Acting as the 'ruin guardians', the Beheeyem play their part in convincing the player, who is with the other half of the Expedition Society on Revelation Mountain, to open up the sealed spring on the mountain. As the sealed spring on the mountain is opened up, the Beheeyem turn the Expedition Society members at Prehistoric Ruins to stone.

Later, one of the Beheeyem is found waiting for the player and partner at the Expedition Society base in Lively Town. Claiming that they had been under the control of Dark Matter, the Beheeyem informs them that it had become freed from Dark Matter's power when the player and partner had escaped the Voidlands. Wanting to remedy its evil acts, the Beheeyem tells the player and partner that Dark Matter can be found at the Tree of Life, deep within the Prehistoric Ruins. The player and partner join Beheeyem to the Prehistoric Ruins, but unbeknownst to them all, it turns out to be a trap concocted by Nuzleaf, who arrives at the ruins with the two other Beheeyem. Here, it is revealed that the Beheeyem had actually erased the player's memory when the player had first arrived in this world, who had then had formed a plan with Nuzleaf in deceiving the player to trust him.

Reluctantly, the Beheeyem joins the other side to avoid being sent to the Voidlands. Meanwhile, the player and partner are saved by Ampharos and Celebi, who teleports them away.

The Beheeyem and Nuzleaf are seen again now fully controlled by Dark Matter as they try to stop the team heading to the Tree of Life. The one Beheeyem, who is not controlled by Dark Matter, is turned into stone as the other two Beheeyem, Nuzleaf, and Yveltal attempt to turn everyone into stone. The player, after defeating them, is able to wrest their minds from Dark Matter's control. The Beheeyem, now repentant, escape the Tree of Life at the player's urging.

During the epilogue, Nuzleaf and the Beheeyem "kidnap" Mew, on claims that Mew must be sacrificed to prevent Dark Matter from ever coming back. This is however later revealed to be a plan made by Ampharos, Mawile, and Xatu as a test to prove the player's desire for the partner's return. After these events, Nuzleaf and the Beheeyem are accepted in Serene Village as villagers.

Once the player reaches the highest rank, Grand Master, one of the Beheeyem, alongside Nuzleaf, will be recruited automatically.
