As a Pichu

Pikachu was eating an apple as a Pichu during his childhood until Jigglypuff and an Igglybuff came by with a giant apple. As Pichu was going to whack the apple like a piñata, he jumped and missed Cleffa who was Clefairy's pre-evolution and crashed onto the ground. Cleffa joined Pichu, Jigglypuff, and Igglybuff along. As they walked, Pichu and the group noticed a Houndour who attacked. Pichu striked Houndour with his electricity, and Jigglypuff and Igglybuff did the finisher. As the rest of the pack of Houndour attacked, Pichu charmed them and the pack stopped their attack. Pichu went to Mt. Moon and Cleffa called out his family. As Cleffa reunited, Pichu and the others left but Cleffa became sad as he wanted to go with them. The family accepted Cleffa's decision and Pichu, along with Jigglypuff, Igglybuff, and the two Houndour that went with them became happy.

Personality and characteristics

Pikachu is scatterbrained and easily confused. He is one of the few Pokémon in the Magical Pokémon Journey canon which cannot speak human language, though the other characters seem to be able to understand him.

He is close to Clefairy and is rarely seen without him. He is also very loyal to Hazel. When he thought Hazel had died in The Legendary Articuno, he traveled up a treacherous mountain to try to bring her back to life. He was also upset in Valentine Heartbeats when he thought that Hazel no longer wanted to be friends with him.

Like Clefairy, Pikachu does not appear to be too bright; he is unable to solve simple math problems presented by Coconut's Eevee and fails all of Almond's manliness tests.
