Christmas Wishes (Japanese: ラブラブクリスマス Love-Love Christmas) is the sixth chapter of the Magical Pokémon Journey manga.
Plot
It is Christmas Eve, and Hazel, Almond, and Grandpa, along with Pikachu and Clefairy, are invited to a party at Jigglypuff's mansion. Jigglypuff soon arrives in a horse-drawn carriage to transport the guests.
After the ride, Wigglytuff, Jigglypuff's older sister, invites everyone into the castle-like mansion. While Hazel enthuses over the beauty of the building, Almond and Grandpa are shocked to see a Squirtle entering the area. Wigglytuff introduces Squirtle as a childhood friend, and it greets everyone in human language. To Hazel's surprise, she sees that Arbok and the Ekans Brothers are present as guests.
As the party continues, Hazel teaches Pikachu and Clefairy how to decorate the Christmas tree while Almond helps Squirtle finish setting up. Afterward, everyone makes a toast to the holiday. Wanting to thank Almond for helping, Squirtle picks up a snack to take over to him. However, right as Squirtle is about to hand over the plate, Grandpa purposefully bumps it, causing food to spill all over Almond. Almond yells at Grandpa, demanding an apology to Squirtle. Squirtle nervously tries to clean up Almond, but he cheers it up and takes it with him to get more food. As Squirtle walks with Almond, it happily envisions him as something of a brother.
Soon enough, it's time for the gift exchange. The guests draw numbers from a box to see who gets which gift. The gift-exchanging pairs are Arbok and Wigglytuff, Squirtle and Almond, Pikachu and Hazel, the Ekans Brothers and Jigglypuff, and lastly, Grandpa and Clefairy. Squirtle is excited to receive a wooden plane from Almond, while Clefairy is distraught to unwrap Grandpa's gift and find a bronze statue of himself.
After putting up their stockings, most of the party guests go to bed. Hazel, dressed in a Santa outfit, steps onto the balcony where Almond is standing alone in the snow. She reveals that she made a present for him—a miniature doll of herself. Almond takes out his own gift for Hazel, which is a wooden ornament with her name on it. Thrilled, Hazel reaches out to hug Almond, and he sheepishly explains he simply had leftover wood from making his gift for the party.
As the night goes on, it is shown that everyone's stockings have been filled, and there are now presents under the tree.
