Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Jubilife Village (Prelude Beach)
"Wake up!"
"Ohhh... Do wake up, won't you?"
"Are you alive, my boy/girl?!"
"You gave me quite the shock, falling from the sky like that... But thank goodness, you seem unharmed!"
Who are you...?: "I'd like to ask you the same! I mean...you fell out of the SKY, you understand. Come now—who in the world does that?!"
Where am I...?: "Why, this is Prelude Beach, of course. Dear me, did the shock of your fall somehow addle your memory?"
"I must say, your clothing is...unusual. You wouldn't happen to have an acquaintance in these parts, would you?"
Regardless of choice: "I see... You seem to be in a bit of a pickle. Might I offer some directions? Do you have somewhere around here you could stay?"
Regardless of choice: "So you don't know anyone here, and you don't even know where to spend the night... Well...this is a proper pickle indeed. Are you quite sure you'll be able to survive?"
Regardless of choice: "I see... Well, no gentleman would abandon a person in such need!"
"Oh my, I'd completely forgotten! I had just caught up to these three runaway Pokémon when you tumbled out of the sky... It's almost as if they knew you'd appear here!"
"Ah, but do you even know what a Pokémon is?"
Of course I do: "My, that's a relief! Though you fell from the sky, it seems we have some common ground, eh? Yes, well, these three Pokémon belong to me, mysterious creatures that they are!"
Not exactly...: "You...you don't? You truly have traveled a long way, haven't you? Well! These three here are what we call Pokémon. Very mysterious creatures, you see. Marvelous."
"Oh yes, and...what might your name be?"
"Oho! So you're called <player>! That name has quite the ring to it! I imagine it must have some lovely meaning."
"Oh, but I do apologize! I haven't even introduced myself! My name is Laventon. I am something of a Pokémon Professor."
"That is to say, I'm a scholar seeking to deepen our understanding of Pokémon. Yes, Pokémon such as these three here, whi—"
"Oh, blast and bother! My darling Pokémon! Why must you run from me again?!"
"I'm terribly sorry, but do you think you could help me round them up? I beg you!"
"Wait, you three! Waiiit!"
Jubilife Village (Practice field)
"*sigh* Alas... Yet another miss!"
"Aha! I'm glad you've come to my rescue, my new friend from the sky!"
"I tried catching my little runaways by tossing some Poké Balls their way, but I'm not the best at this sort of thing, you see..."
"I'd love to give you a go at it, but perhaps I should tell you a bit about these three first?"
"Now, that one is Rowlet!"
"Rowlet can photosynthesize like a plant, and apparently it battles using its sharp feathers."
"That one over there is Cyndaquil!"
"The fire burning on Cyndaquil's back will flare up whenever it is surprised or irate."
"The Pokémon near the pond is Oshawott."
"Oshawott naps while floating on the water, and it can battle using the shell-like object on its belly!"
"Oh my! I nearly forgot to cover the most crucial thing—how to go about catching Pokémon!"
"Here you are, my boy/girl: Poké Balls! Throw these at Pokémon to catch them."
"Ah, but that won't do for an explanation, will it? I do apologize. Let me be more thorough. Now, I've mentioned already that Pokémon are strange, marvelous creatures."
"What's so strange about them, you ask? Well, each and every Pokémon is able to shrink itself down to minuscule size!"
"And that's where Poké Balls come in! Poké Balls are a recent invention, you see. Throw one of them at a Pokémon, and...why, the Pokémon will shrink down and fit inside the ball, comfy as can be. And with that, you've caught a Pokémon!"
"I know we've just met, but I'm afraid I've no one else to turn to. I'd be awfully grateful if you could catch my three runaways!"
"Now, the proper technique is to take aim at the Pokémon, then let the ball fly—it's quite simple! Though far be it from me to say so, I suppose, given my own dire lack of skill in this area."
  • Aloud
"If you run out of balls, do just say the word!"
  • If talked to before all Pokémon are caught
"I'm sure you have many questions after your fall from the sky, but let's go one step at a time, eh? Besides, catching those Pokémon is to their benefit, too!"
  • If the player tries to leave the area
"Wait! Please, don't go. I need you to catch my runaway Pokémon!"
  • If the player throws a Poké Ball at him
"Did...did you just try to throw a Poké Ball at me? I'd really rather you not!"
  • If the player uses up all 50 Poké Balls before catching all three Pokémon
"Now now, please aim carefully before throwing! These Poké Balls are quite valuable, you know.
  • After the player catches one Pokémon
"Oh, wonderful! You've caught a Pokémon!"
"It seems you've quite the knack for this Pokémon- catching business, <player>! Jolly useful skill to have around here."
"Only two of my darling runaways left now. Still, this is most unusual. You don't seem fearful of Pokémon in the slightest..."
  • After the player catches two Pokémon
"I can hardly believe it, <player>! Incredible! You know, many people fear to even approach Pokémon—never mind catch them. Bravo, indeed!"
"Just one more to go. Let's wrap this up sharpish, shall we?"
  • After the player fails to catch the third Pokémon
"Ah yes, I'm afraid that can happen... Poké Balls are hardly 100 percent foolproof. Give it another go, old boy/girl!"
  • After the player catches all three Pokémon
"Thank you very much, indeed! Oh, what a relief to have them all back. You see, the three Pokémon you caught have only just arrived at the village to help with our research. They won't yet listen to anyone."
"And as I mentioned, they bolted from the village almost as if they knew you'd come falling..."
"But I must say, <player>, I was taken aback by how well you use Poké Balls! How is it that you catch Pokémon so ably when you've only just arrived here?"
"One can't help but think there's a reason you appeared here and now..."
""Seek out all Pokémon"..."
"That object is an "Arc Phone," you say...? What an odd device. Could it be...guiding you somehow?"
"If you'll indulge me for a moment, there's something I'd like to share with you. You see, I have a dream—to compile this region's first complete record of its Pokémon!"
"We in the field call such a catalog a Pokédex. Yes, a proper Pokédex is a wonderful work of research, containing detailed records of all the Pokémon to be found in a region!"
"But...in order to properly document Pokémon, one must, of course, catch them."
"And therein lies the rub, I'm afraid. Poké Balls have only just been invented, and not many have mastered the skill of using them."
"Enter you—a person with a clear talent for catching Pokémon!"
"Your goal is to seek out every Pokémon, and mine is to have all those Pokémon caught. A situation ripe for teamwork, don't you agree?"
"Come now! What do you say? Shall we help one another out, my boy/girl?"
Regardless of choice: "Then whoever and from wherever you may be, I welcome you with open arms! We've a Pokédex to complete!"
"First things first—let's get these Pokémon back to the village! Then we'll sort out your lodgings and find you some proper clothes and a meal and all that."
"Follow me, then! Onward to Jubilife Village!"
Jubilife Village (Seaside gate)
"Thank you for your tireless work keeping us safe, my good guardsmen!"
"This young man/lady was of great assistance to me and my Pokémon, so I hope you'll forgive my bringing him/her into the village for a bit!"
Jubilife Village (Canala Avenue)
"This way, if you please!"
"Jubilife Village! It's come a long way thanks to the fine people of the Galaxy Expedition Team!"
"This road we're on now is known to the locals as Canala Avenue."
"The village was built scarcely two years ago... There's much to do yet and not many to do it."
"And since we know so little of the local Pokémon, people hesitate to set foot outside the village."
"Now, that impressive building up ahead of us is Galaxy Hall—headquarters for this entire outfit!"
  • If the player stops walking
"I understand you must be more than a tad curious about the village, but do follow me for now."
  • If the player tries to walk away in a different direction
"Do stick close—we can't have you getting lost!"
  • Upon reaching Canala Bridge
"Oh botheration! I'd almost forgotten!"
"I need to go and report that we successfully recovered the escaped Pokémon! Might I ask you to wait for me at the canteen?"
"It's just past this bridge here, then to the left. The Wallflower, it's called!"
Mission 1 - "In an Unfamiliar Land"
Jubilife Village (The Wallflower)
"Unfortunately it's just as Rei/Akari says... I'm a clumsy sort of fellow, to put it mildly!"
"But everything will be quite all right now! <player> here has agreed to help us with our Pokédex!"
"Oho! A most reasonable decision, Captain. Now, would you care to join us for a meal? I'm sure you've got plenty of questions for our visitor!"
"Aloof as always, I see."
"Well, no matter! The rest of us can share a meal and some pleasant conversation, then, eh?"
"Beni, old chum! The usual potato mochi, if you please—but make it for three today!"
"Wonderful stuff, Beni! Much obliged. Your potato mochi never fail to please!"
"Ah, well, you know of that great hole in the sky? The one people call the space-time rift? Our new friend fell right out of it!"
"Come now—I am a scientist! My job is to observe and explain any and all phenomena. I concern myself only with facts!"
"Now, you already know there are many Pokémon here in the Hisui region..."
"Well, we know this much... Pokémon are terrifying creatures!"
"It's all but impossible to know what kinds of powers they might possess or what sorts of wondrous things they can do!"
"But that's where <player> will come in!"
"He/She successfully caught three Pokémon! Three of them in quick order, you understand! Nobody in the Galaxy Team is capable of a feat such as that. This means we can finally begin our Pokémon research in earnest!"
"Ah, well, to be perfectly fair, the Pokémon that fled to the beach weren't on the attack. But the key to catching Pokémon is getting close enough to aim your Poké Ball well. And it seems our new friend is fearless enough to do just that!"
"I'm sure we'll start to rein in the good captain's stress eating soon enough. Now, have your fill, <player>! And think! If you make it into the Galaxy Team, you'll never have to worry about a meal again. The team provides for all its members' needs— even if said members fell out of the sky!"
"That was quite delicious! Quite delicious indeed!"
"Not to worry! I have complete confidence in <player>'s skills."
"Now now, she simply puts on a stern front to help keep us all safe."
"At any rate, I think it's time we turned in for the night, eh? It's a good thing one can't fall out of the futons we sleep in here—I imagine our new friend has had enough falling for one day! And with that, I bid you both a good night!"
Mission 2 - "The Galaxy Team's Entry Trial"
Galaxy Hall (Cyllene's office)
"Pardon, <player>! Come with me a moment!"
Galaxy Hall (Entrance hall)
"Now then, a jolly good morning to everyone!"
"In order to complete our Pokédex and, well, simply survive in this unforgiving land... <player> absolutely must pass this trial!"
"And as a professor of Pokémon, I've got just the ticket to help accomplish that!"
"Go on, <player>! Pick the Pokémon that strikes your fancy! With a partner of your own, you'll be able to fight off wild Pokémon outside the village!"
"These little darlings are very dear to me...but it's plain to see they're rather curious about you!"
"Well, my boy/girl? Which Pokémon would you like to keep as your very own?"
  • Upon selecting a Pokémon
"Do you want Rowlet/Cyndaquil/Oshawott as your first partner?"
No: "Why not just choose whichever one your gut tells you to?/They’re all so lovely.../You know what is expected of you. Now it is up to you to see things through."
Yes: "And with that, one of the Pokémon you caught at Prelude Beach for me will now be yours to keep! Good show! I've tucked Rowlet/Cyndaquil/Oshawott back inside its Poké Ball for you, so take it—it's yours!"
  • After receiving a Pokémon
"A word of advice, my boy/girl—pay close attention to which Poké Balls are empty and which ones contain a Pokémon when you're out in the field!"
"That could well be... They did go dashing from the village when <player> fell out of the sky, after all. Well, not to worry, you two! I'll have you assist me with my research for now!"
"By the by, what species has Captain Cyllene charged you with catching?"
"Well, that's smashing! All three of those species can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands!"
"Let me give you some Poké Balls to use during your trial, then."
"These Poké Balls may be handcrafted, but they work a treat, as you've already seen!"
"You'll have this trial cleared in no time!"
Obsidian Fieldlands (Fieldlands Camp)
  • Before the trial
"Ah, well, you see... Captain Cyllene got hold of me after you left... She impressed upon me that I bear full responsibility for whatever happens to "our sudden guest."
"To be honest, my dear girl/boy, I don't intend to lift a finger! <player>'s talents are the real deal. He/She'll pass with flying colors—you'll see!"
  • If talked to before starting the trial
"If Pokémon start launching attacks at you, run to safety as quickly as you can, all right, my boy/girl?"
  • After clearing the trial
"Oho! I said you'd pass the trial with flying colors, and it seems you went and did just that!"
"Congratulations, <player>! You've taken your first step toward seeking out every Pokémon! This calls for a commemorative photograph."
"Now then, we'd best report to Captain Cyllene. Time to head back to Jubilife Village, eh?"
Jubilife Village (Floaro Main Street)
"Come now, you two—let's not dillydally! Captain Cyllene awaits our report at headquarters."
Galaxy Hall (His office)
  • If talked to before reporting to Cyllene
"We've a great deal of survey work ahead of us, my boy/girl! I hope you're ready!"
Galaxy Hall (Cyllene's office)
"Indeed! You see, the more you add to the Pokédex, the higher your rank will become. And working on the Pokédex will also, of course, bring you closer toward that goal of yours... to seek out every last Pokémon!"
Jubilife Village (Craftworks)
  • After completing Mission 3
"Oho! Now that's some fine craftsmanship! Hard to believe this was your first time stepping up to the workbench, my boy/girl!"
"You'll recall, of course, that Pokémon possess the odd power to shrink themselves down. With the Poké Balls we craft, we can make use of that power to catch them!"
"All so that more Pokémon species can be duly recorded in a Pokédex. And on that note, here you are!"
"I prepared this volume just for you! I hope it aids you well in your aim to seek out all the Pokémon there are in this grand region!"
"I'd be all too happy to explain more about the research tasks I could use your assistance with. Come join me at the Fieldlands Camp whenever you are ready, my good <player>!"
Mission 4 - "Getting to Work on Research Tasks"
Obsidian Fieldlands (Fieldlands Camp)
"Righto. Let's get to it, then, shall we? In order to complete this Pokédex of ours, there are a great many research tasks I'll need your help to carry out, my boy/girl."
"The details of these tasks can be found in the Pokédex for you to reference anytime."
"You must catch and battle diverse Pokémon species and carry out plenty of research tasks."
"Do so, and you'll gain research points and other rewards for your work!"
  • If talked again
"Research tasks aren't simply about catching Pokémon—they'll require you to carry out all sorts of exciting fieldwork! For now, I suggest you listen to Rei/Akari's advice. You'll find everything much clearer with his/her help."
"Or would you rather return to Jubilife Village?"
Yes: "A wise decision, my boy/girl! One can never be too prepared for an expedition outside the village. Get your affairs sorted and meet us back here."
No: "As you wish. Best of luck carrying out your research tasks out there!"
  • After completing the tutorial by Rei/Akari
"Oho! If it isn't a Crafting Kit! You must have listened attentively to Rei/Akari's teachings. Excellent work, dear girl/boy!"
"This seems a good time to explain to you about survey reports and the rewards they offer."
"On that note, let me check the research tasks you've completed thus far."
If the player has not earned 500 points: "Ah, not quite there yet, I'm afraid! You'll need to complete a few more research tasks before you're ready to go up a rank. I'd recommend you work your way through Bidoof's and Starly's tasks first. Hang in there!"
If the player has earned at least 500 points: "You've made good progress on these research tasks, <player>. I do believe you're ready to move up the ranks! Let's head back to the village and report the good news to Captain Cyllene. It's time you earned yourself a star!"
Jubilife Village (The Wallflower)
  • After completing Mission 4
"So, <player>, my boy/girl!"
"I believe a jolly good congratulations is in order! Well done on earning your First Star rank!"
"Indeed so! Some people will ask you for help when you talk with them, while other requests will need to be claimed from the blackboard I keep in my lab."
"Speaking of which, weren't you approached with a request recently, Rei/Akari? What's it all about?"
"Ah, yes. That request came from Mai of the Diamond Clan, if I recall correctly?"
"The people of the Diamond Clan have lived here in Hisui since before the Galaxy Team arrived. If we could establish good relations, I'm sure there is much we might learn from them, including more about the local Pokémon..."
"But we can discuss all that tomorrow! For today, we should eat up and get some rest."
Mission 5 - "A Request from Mai"
Obsidian Fieldlands (Deertrack Heights)
"Whew... Thank goodness... I got here in time..."
"As a Pokémon researcher, I could hardly miss out on a chance to observe an alpha, now, could I?"
"Upon my word...what a large specimen! Little wonder alpha Pokémon are feared across the land if they're all as oversized as this one!"
"Be careful, <player>. Size is a potent weapon in and of itself. No doubt this alpha is a powerful and hardy foe. If you must face it, make sure your Pokémon has/have some strong moves at its/their disposal."
  • After the player defeats/catches the alpha Kricketune
"Wh-what in the world?!"
"Remarkable! Truly outstanding stuff! A Pokémon letting someone ride on it... Why, it's just like the Ride Pokémon of Alola!"
"Ah, about that. I know this was a joint decision by Adaman and the commander, but still—is it truly fine for us to set up more base camps like this?"
"Here we have it—our new base camp upon Deertrack Heights! I'll call it...the Heights Camp!"
"From now on, when you set out from the village, you can ask to be escorted to this base camp to start your excursions directly from here."
Jubilife Village (The Wallflower)
  • After completing Mission 5
"Beni, old chum, the usual potato mochi, please! And make it for three today as well!"
"Ah. This is the Kleavor that was reportedly struck by powerful lightning, yes? I did hear he's been behaving most erratically since then..."
"Still, if further investigation is in order, the Survey Corps will, of course, step up to the task. A certain amount of danger is inevitable when researching unfamiliar Pokémon, but I'm sure <player? here can handle things just fine!"
"Now now! You forget that the strengths of Pokémon are key items of information that we of the Survey Corps are duty bound to research! And since this perilous work of ours calls for a clear head and fighting-fit physique... I do believe a good night's sleep is in order after this fine meal."
Mission 6 - "Summoned by Commander Kamado"
Galaxy Hall (Cyllene's office)
"Ah, good! You're already here!"
"Yes, let's get right to it. So, <player>... I understand you've been requested to find out the cause of Kleavor's frenzied state. But as you're aware by now, Kleavor is a mighty thing. Nigh invincible, even!"
"The Security Corps tried throwing Poké Balls at Kleavor when they were attacked, but..."
"I'm afraid they didn't even come close to catching him! It seems he's a far trickier opponent than even those aggressive species of Pokémon that cannot be caught outside of battle once they're riled."
"So perhaps a good starting point for our research could be to find out what sorts of offerings they normally leave for this Kleavor."
"Adaman and Mai weren't wrong, you know. If you're to study and perhaps even quell Kleavor, you'd best start by visiting his abode."
Mission 7 - "The Frenzy of the Lord of the Woods"
Obsidian Fieldlands (Heights Camp)
"Good to see you, <player>! And how is your research into Kleavor going? Swimmingly, I expect?"
"...Oho, is that so? Now that's quite the tidbit! So a serving of his favorite foods will normally make Kleavor quite agreeable—is that it?"
"I need to mull this over back at the laboratory. You should come along, too, dear boy/girl."
Galaxy Hall (His office)
"So according to the information you were able to learn from Irida and Lian of the Pearl Clan...were this the normal course of events, that frenzied Kleavor would be calmed by a nice serving of his two favorite foods..."
"I do wonder... Is it possible that the aromas or some other components of these foods might combine in a way that could not only calm Kleavor but draw him back from this frenzy?"
"But by your own report, even Kleavor's warden— who looks after Kleavor and knows him well— cannot approach him in his current state. It would be a fool's gambit to get close enough to offer him food..."
"Hmmm... Give me a moment, if you would. I need some time to ponder on this..."
"There ought to be something in my research notes that can help us..."
"Eureka!"
"We'll simply have to throw the food! You've quite the arm for throwing things, haven't you, <player>? Might I suggest you take Kleavor's favorite foods and throw them at the Pokémon?"
Regardless: "Yes, it's all coming together! We can use our skill in Poké Ball crafting to shape Kleavor's beloved foods into balls, then throw them to achieve the same calming effect—but from afar! A brilliant idea, if I do say so myself. As for what to call these yummy projectiles... Well, how about Teatime Balls? Puts one in mind of a nice, relaxing afternoon tea, does it not?"
"Oh my. With that name, it'd sound like I'm the one being launched at our frenzied friend..."
"In any case, we can rely on the Pearl Clan to gather the necessary foodstuffs, correct?"
"If you're off to Grandtree Arena, best set out from the Heights Camp, eh?"
Obsidian Fieldlands (Fieldlands or Heights Camp)
  • If talked to after Kleavor's frenzy has been stopped
"Hm? You quelled Lord Kleavor, you say? Oh, well done and bravo, my boy/girl! Time to head back to the village and report to Commander Kamado!"
Jubilife Village (The Wallflower)
  • After completing Mission 7
"Beni, old chum, the usual order! Three servings of potato mochi, please! Oh, and if there's anything else that you'd recommend, by all means, bring it out!"
"I daresay <player> was well prepared. And he/she was a quick study of how Kleavor moved in battle, from what I heard!"
"All in all, it was a very good show! A victory well earned!"
"Lovely! And now that we need not worry about being mauled by Kleavor, either... let's take our chance to study all the Pokémon that call the Obsidian Fieldlands their home!"
Mission 8 - "Arezu's Predicament"
Crimson Mirelands (Mirelands Camp)
  • Upon arriving for the first time
"Here we are, my boy/girl! The Crimson Mirelands! An area teeming with poison-wielding Pokémon and plenty of others besides!"
"I'm counting on both of you to carry out your survey work as best you can! But be mindful of your limitations as well, won't you? If wild Pokémon are giving you trouble, I suggest you go to the training grounds and have Captain Zisu teach your Pokémon some strong moves."
Crimson Mirelands (Mirelands or Bogbound Camp)
"Er, <player>? I think you've got something stuck to you..."
"Was that a Pokémon?!"
"Come to think of it, Volo did mention that there were carvings that resembled writing on the walls of the Solaceon Ruins... But supposing that the Pokémon we just saw is a species with multiple forms, perhaps the carvings are actually the likenesses of this very Pokémon!"
"I'm going to add a section specifically for that species to your Pokédex, <player>!"
"What's this, now? Letter-like markings seem to have appeared in this section I've just added... And was that your Arc Phone I just heard? If your mysterious device is reacting to this new species, I wonder what that could mean..."
  • If talked to after Lilligant's frenzy has been stopped
"What's this? You quelled Lady Lilligant? Smashing! Let's head back to the village, then. The commander will be wanting a report."
Jubilife Village (The Wallflower)
  • After completing Mission 8
"Now this is the life, eh? Enjoying tasty potato mochi with friends, sharing the latest findings from our Pokémon research, and topping it all off with a good night's sleep... Truly, who could ask for anything more!"
"Come now—don't worry yourself so, my girl/boy!"
"As a wise man once said, "Trust in yourself, and you will find your way." These words are worth taking to heart! As long as we truly believe in ourselves, I'm sure we'll even complete that Pokédex of ours someday!"
Mission 10 - "The Lordless Island"
Cobalt Coastlands (Beachside Camp)
  • Upon arriving for the first time
"Ah, the Cobalt Coastlands! A simply lovely corner of Hisui! Sea and sky as far as the eye can see! What kinds of Pokémon await us here, I wonder? Water types? Or Flying types, perhaps? Oooh, I simply can't wait to study them all!"
"Now, I'm sure you're just as excited as I am to research this area's Pokémon, but let's not forget that you've a mission to accomplish! So, any questions before you get started?"
About Firespit Island...: "Hmm...indeed. Firespit Island is an offshore volcano—you'll need to cross the sea to reach it. I'd advise you to speak to a fellow called Iscan. He's one of the Diamond Clan's wardens and will surely help you find your way."
About that warden...: "Wardens, in fact! Here in the Cobalt Coastlands, you'll find Palina of the Pearl Clan and Iscan of the Diamond Clan. Perhaps they'll be of some help to you as you dig into those curious occurrences."
Cobalt Coastlands (Beachside or Coastlands Camp)
  • If talked to after Arcanine's frenzy has been stopped
"Hm? You've quelled the new Lord Arcanine? Oho! Let's tell Commander Kamado the good news, then, shall we? Back to Jubilife we go!"
Jubilife Village (The Wallflower)
  • After completing Mission 10
"The birth of a new lord Pokémon... What a sight that must have been! If only I had journeyed to Firespit Island to witness the event myself."
"Come now, you know my coordination is so poor I couldn't even hit my own foot with a Poké Ball! And I can't dodge Pokémon attacks to quite literally save my own skin! Of course I can't possibly ride atop a fearsome beast like Basculegion! That being said... we'd all do well to remember these wise words: "The ever-striving soul is rewarded in the end." And strive I shall! For the sake of my research, I will surely ride a Pokémon one day and record the experience in our Pokédex for all posterity! Just you watch!"
Mission 11 - "Scaling Perilous Heights"
Coronet Highlands (Highlands Camp)
  • Upon arriving for the first time
"There you are, my boy/girl! Welcome to the Coronet Highlands! I expect you'll find all sorts of Rock-type and Ground-type Pokémon wandering about these craggy, boulder-strewn heights!"
"And up there... Right beneath that great rift in space-time is the peak of Mount Coronet itself! The magnetism from it may well exert some sort of influence on the Pokémon throughout the area. Fascinating stuff!"
Coronet Highlands (Highlands or Mountain Camp)
  • If talked to after Electrode's frenzy has been stopped
"Oh? You quelled Lord Electrode? Splendid job as always, my boy/girl! Let's be off to the village then. Time to report to Commander Kamado!"
Jubilife Village (The Wallflower)
  • After completing Mission 11
"Wh-what an enticing aroma! My appetite just went through the roof!"
"Well, I've heard talk that our progress surveying Pokémon has made gathering ingredients a less onerous—or at least less dangerous—task."
"Indeed! Taking on such perilous duties has earned you a great deal of trust, <player>. It's like I always say: "Behavior is a mirror that reflects one's true nature.""
"You let your actions do the speaking for you, <player>, and the message is clear as day! It doesn't matter one whit where you came from. You're part of the Survey Corps and Jubilife Village now!"
Mission 12 - "The Slumbering Lord of the Tundra"
Jubilife Village (Front gate)
"So, we're to make for the Alabaster Icelands?"
Regardless of choice: "I see... Of course I'm all too aware of the injuries done to some of our own good people because of the frenzies of the other nobles. There seemed little choice but to intervene... But this Avalugg out in the Alabaster Icelands hasn't harmed a soul, as I hear it. Does it really behoove us to go out of our way to subdue him?"
"Avalanches don't require any Pokémon's help. They occur perfectly well on their own, you know."
"I confess I still have my doubts whether we should even be getting involved in this case. No damage has been done so far, but if we send <player> out there, we'll be putting him/her in danger of real harm!"
"There's simply so much we don't yet understand when it comes to the noble Pokémon... We don't know whether their frenzies truly are causing them to suffer, nor do we know why they enter these states in the first place or if this is all connected somehow to the space-time rift."
"What is it, I wonder, that the commander hopes will come about from our quelling the nobles? Or, indeed, from surveying any of the Pokémon of this land? What is it he hopes to achieve...?"
A way to coexist?: "I certainly hope so. The goal of my research is to help build a future where everyone gets along with Pokémon."
Protecting everyone?: "Indeed, the better we understand our Pokémon neighbors, the safer we'll all feel and be. But if the real goal of this mission is to quell a noble for quelling's sake, rather than for the sake of scientific study, then..."
"Ah! Nothing to bother yourselves about! Doubtless I'm just being a silly sausage. You've got a mission to carry out, haven't you, <player>? Then we will support you in it."
"As for me, I'll set off for the Alabaster Icelands forthwith! See you there, my boy/girl!"
Alabaster Icelands (Snowfields Camp)
  • Upon arriving for the first time
" My word, it's rather chilly here, isn't it? Glad to see you made it safe and sound, in any case. Very few venture to these Alabaster Icelands—apart from Tao Hua leading the odd Supply Corps excursion to gather materials."
"But the Survey Corps, of course, must go anywhere that Pokémon are found!"
"From what I gather, Icepeak Arena—where you'll find Avalugg—is rather far off, I'm afraid! Doubtless, this mission to tackle Avalugg will be another dangerous one. Learn all you can from Irida and Adaman to try to keep yourself safe."
Jubilife Village (The Wallflower)
  • After completing Mission 12
"Thanks for this nice, sizeable helping of potato mochi, Beni, old chum! Oh, and if there's anything else that you'd recommend, by all means, bring it out!"
"I certainly had my reservations as to whether Avalugg needed quelling... But if it means bringing calm to everyone, then I suppose we did the right thing."
"Now then, tomorrow's soon upon us, and it'll be another hard day at work for the Survey Corps! Don't forget what we've got our sights on: nothing less than a completed Pokédex!"
"Assistant...? Come now, Rei/Akari—don't sell yourself short! You're a full-fledged member of the Survey Corps, too!"
Mission 13 - "Disaster Looming"
Galaxy Hall (Cyllene's office)
"Some sort of dreadful energy seems to be pouring from the rift in space-time... Now the entire sky has gone red!"
Jubilife Village (Floaro Main Street)
"You're to be...expelled? From the village?"
Galaxy Hall (Front gate)
"As will I, naturally."
Obsidian Fieldlands (Fieldlands Camp)
"Quite right! Moreover, even if you did happen to fall from the sky, that hardly gives you the power to turn it red!"
"This is utterly intolerable—and, I might add, absurdly unscientific! As a man of science, I must fight such illogical thinking tooth and nail!"
"Of course! Perhaps Adaman or Irida might take you in? Though I'm already afraid they've both returned to their respective settlements..."
"What of the dream I first shared with you on Prelude Beach? To complete the Pokédex? That dream simply won't come true without you..."
Jubilife Village (Front gate)
"Oh, my dear <player>..."
"Of course I was worried! But I don't think I could hold a candle to the distress you showed, Rei/Akari."
"She's buried under a mound of work, I'm afraid. We're to join her in the Survey Corps office. It seems her hands are more then full now that Commander Kamado's gone."
Regardless of choice: "Well, he set out for Mount Coronet with the Security Corps in tow. He's determined to handle this whole space-time rift business himself...including dealing with the Pokémon that's been spotted on the other side."
"Well, we aren't getting anywhere out here. Let's head inside and report to the captain."
Mission 17 - "Atop Mount Coronet"
Galaxy Hall - Cyllene's Office
"Then I'll go as well! We're all in this together, we members of the Survey Corps!"
Jubilife Village (Front gate)
"Too right—and a fine job he/she did, too! The Survey Corps is always hard at work for the sake of everyone here in the village—as well as for the sake of our relations with Pokémon!"
Coronet Highlands (Temple of Sinnoh)
"Oh, well done, <player>, my boy/girl! Masterfully handled! I was watching the whole time as you battled and caught your way to a simple stunning victory. You truly are the pride of the Survey Corps!"
Coronet Highlands (Summit Camp)
"Such dreadful power... It's certainly beyond our current capabilities to survey such a creature. I'm amazed you even managed to stay on your feet before it, <player>! And did you notice the energy pouring out of the rift? It seems likely that a buildup of this same energy was what caused the strange lightning that threw the noble Pokémon into their frenzied states..."
"Commander, might I suggest we return to the matter at hand? We've left things in quite a state up at the temple."
"And "the vessel of humankind's invention"... I daresay that might refer to a Poké Ball."
"Oh! Upon my word, perhaps I do! <player>, my boy/girl! Could you lend me those plates you received from Wyrdeer and the others? The ones that Volo said had messages engraved upon them?"
"Aha! Just as I remembered. Here on the back of the Earth Plate, it says... "When the universe was created, its shards became this Plate" I think this may be a hint to what we need!"
"Don't you see? We must search for stone—or rather ore, I suppose—that shares the same material properties as these plates! In fact, I believe that young Lian might know just where to find such a thing, as he said he'd been investigating it at Volo's urging."
"It's decided, them! Thus begins our search for the "stone of creation's beginning." Although the name is rather a mouthful, wouldn't you say? I propose we call it..."Origin Ore"!"
Mission 18 - "The Counterpart"
Coronet Highlands (Summit Camp)
"So this is the "stone of creation's beginning"... The Origin Ore... Mhm, yes, one can certainly feel an imposing aura emanating from it... Could this be...the feeling of the very origin itself?"
"Exactly, my girl. Now then, back we go to Jubilife Village!"
Galaxy Hall (His office)
"Splendid! Even in pieces, I think we'll find it's still perfectly fit for the purpose. We're jolly lucky you had the foresight to pick up all these broken bits back at the temple!"
"The fragments of the Red Chain, collected at great personal risk by the Diamond/Pearl Clan... Then the stone of creation's beginning, which we only learned of thanks to the Pearl/Diamond Clan... And now it is time for the Galaxy Team to play its part and turn these items into a proper vessel."
"Rei/Akari, my boy/girl. You are one of our team's greatest craftspeople. Could I ask you to do the honors?"
"This may take us some time. Perhaps the rest of you had best wait outside while we work."
Galaxy Hall (Entrance hall)
"We've done it, <player>! It's complete!"
"I dub it...the Origin Ball! If the message conveyed to our good clan leader can be believed, then this should allow you to catch the Pokémon that has appeared at the Temple of Sinnoh!"
"Everything's ready now, <player>. Take the Origin Ball, and hurry back to the Temple of Sinnoh together with Dialga/Palkia!"
Coronet Highlands (Temple of Sinnoh)
"Yes, oh, good show! What a catch! You contained that fearsome thing in the Origin Ball! Absolutely astounding as ever, <player>!"
Mission 19 - "A New Day Dawns"
Galaxy Hall (Cyllene's office)
"I believe last night was the first time I've caught a glimpse of you making merry, Captain!"
"I daresay we've made quite significant progress, all in all. Though we could afford to put a little more effort into our research tasks..."
"And of course it is hard to know how far to go in pursuit of some reports. Certain Pokémon have only been mentioned in Hisui's legends, after all. Who knows if they are even real!"
"Oho! Music to my ears, my good fellow."
Request 31 - "Setting Up the Bogbound Camp"
Crimson Mirelands (Bogbound Camp)
  • After the base camp has been established
"This makes a second base camp for us to use in the Crimson Mirelands! Perhaps some Stunky will pop by for fun and games sometime, eh? Wouldn't that be a treat!"
Request 46 - "Setting Up the Coastlands Camp"
Cobalt Coastlands (Coastlands Camp)
  • After the base camp has been established
"What a splendidly scenic base camp! This ought to be quite convenient for surveying Pokémon that live on the waterfront."
Request 66 - "The Sea's Legend"
Galaxy Hall (His office)
  • Receiving the request
"Ah, jolly good choice there, <player>! I see you've taken on that request I posted. Let me fill you in right away then. I was strolling along Prelude Beach the other day when I saw something swimming a little way out from the shore. Rather regrettably, it disappeared before I could snap a picture, but I can only assume this mysterious swimmer was some sort of Pokémon..."
"From the way it swam, it seemed to be drifting on the ocean currents. Now, if I'm not mistaken, from the seas behind Jubilife that would take it all the way to the Cobalt Coastlands!"
"This rather leaves me wondering if the Pokémon was headed there for some specific purpose..."
"Given the circumstances, I was thinking that if we spoke with the good Warden Iscan of the Diamond Clan, we might learn more."
Cobalt Coastlands (Beachside or Coastlands Camp)
  • Completing the request
"I see you've caught our mysterious swimmer... So it was Manaphy all along! It seems Manaphy here is a migratory Pokémon, drifting to and fro across the seas since long ago. At least, that's what it says in "The Sea's Legend." I had a jolly hard time getting hold of this tome... But it seems it was worth it in the end!"
Request 71 - "Setting Up the Icepeak Camp"
Alabaster Icelands (Icepeak Camp)
  • After the base camp has been established
"Goodness, I don't know how the Pokémon living in this frigid place find the energy to dash about as they do... Do they have a nice layer of insulating fat, perhaps...? There must be some trick to it!"
Request 91 - "On the Trail of Giratina"
Jubilife Village (Front gate)
  • Receiving the request
"<player>, my boy/girl, you must tell me... You went to the Temple of Sinnoh with Volo, correct? What exactly happened...?"
"... ... ... ... ... ..."
"I see... In that case, the shadow in the Cobalt Coastlands may be none other than Giratina, the Pokémon said to have once been banished to the reverse side of our world."
"I do believe this calls for a survey..."
Cobalt Coastlands (Beachside or Coastlands Camp)
  • After catching Giratina, completing the request
"Volo eventually returned and told me more about what happened at the Temple of Sinnoh... He said that Giratina... That it chose to protect the land of Hisui after discovering it was no match for you. He said that we should study it and add it to the Pokédex. He wandered off after that, saying this was probably the last time we would meet... But I can't help but feel...he's far more invested in our completion of the Pokédex than he would have us know..."
Galaxy Hall (His office)
  • If the player interacts with a first partner Pokémon, after completing Mission 18
"<player>, my boy/girl! What say you take the Pokémon here in the lab with you on your excursions?"
I'd love to!: "Splendid! I'm sure the chance to help with your survey work would be a delight to any Pokémon—especially ones stuck indoors so long, like mine!"
I don't know...: "Ah. Say no more, old boy/girl, that's quite all right. My door is always open if you change your mind."
Jubilife Village (Photography studio)
  • By himself
"I usually only take photos for the Pokédex, but here at the photography studio, one can take some rather marvelous souvenir snaps! Now, my boy/girl, let's get a good shot of the two of us to commemorate our meeting here like this!"
  • With Rei/Akari
"The selection of screens and lenses here allows for some rather spiffing photos! Let's utilize the photography studio's potential to its fullest, eh? I'm sure we'll get a splendid shot!"
Pokédex evaluation
Any base camp
  • If new observations were made
"I see you've caught <number> Pokémon! Care to report your findings?" / "Oho! It seems you've now caught a considerable number of Pokémon in total! Bravo, my boy/girl! Allow me to take a look at your latest findings."
Yes: "Oho! It seems you've made some new observations! Let's have a look, then... Mm-hmm, I see...Most illuminating! I'll update our Pokédex with this new data!"
No: "Jolly good. Keep up the fine survey work!"
  • If no new observations were made
"Looks like there's nothing in particular for you to report at this time, hmm?"
  • If no new Pokédex info is added
"Ah... It seems there's nothing new to add to the Pokédex this time..."
  • After reporting any observations
"So, what would you like to do now?"
Continue my excursion/Gotta go!: "Jolly good. Keep up the fine survey work!"
Return to the village: "Righto! With the Security Corps escorting us, it'll be a nice, safe trip back to Jubilife."
"If you want to raise your rank within the Galaxy Team, you'll need to carry out research tasks. Look at the Pokédex pages of the Pokémon you catch to check the tasks for their species, then cross them off the list to earn research points."
Galaxy Hall (His office)
  • Upon reporting Pokémon
"I see your Pokémon research is coming along nicely! May I record your findings?"
No: "You're welcome to come chat with me anytime you'd care to share you're latest findings!"
  • If talked to after an evaluation
"You know I expect great things of you. Carry on the good fight out there!"
Any base camp or his office in Galaxy Hall
  • Upon rank-up
"Splendiferous results! I daresay you've earned yourself a promotion to the next rank! Best to report to Captain Cyllene, eh? I'd get right on that, if I were you!"
"A completed Pokédex, at last... Though in a way, you could almost call this a "<player>-dex"!"
"And of course you had your directive, didn't you? I recall the message you received when you first fell down to this land."
""Seek out all Pokémon"...was it not? It seems you've finally achieved that goal!"
"So, where must you go now?"
"Mount Coronet... The Temple of Sinnoh..."
"You'll find nowhere else in all of Hisui closer to the heavens... You are practically among the stars up there, as if one with the very universe—all creation."
"What will happen there, I wonder? My scientific curiosity is positively roiling, but...well, this isn't my tale of adventure—it's yours."
"This is for you and you alone to go and find out!"
"We each have our separate duties—yours is to go to the Temple of Sinnoh, and mine is to give this Pokédex a jolly thorough read through!"
