Shoko

Shoko (Japanese: ショーコ Shōko) is a recurring character in the Pokémon Adventures manga.

In the manga

Pokémon Adventures

Shoko makes her first appearance in A Week to Go and Old Wounds, where she argues with her friend Trish about her choice of battling against the legendary Pokémon found inside Mistralton Cave. Trish berates Shoko for her timid behavior, and enters the cave in a huff. Black, who overheard their conversation, asks Shoko what just happened. After introducing herself, the two hear a scream coming from inside the cave and rush in to investigate. There, they find that Trish was defeated by Terrakion and Virizion and is being held captive.

Although Black manages to rescue Trish, the third legendary Pokémon, Cobalion, appears and causes Trish to drop one of her torches and accidentally cause a fire. While the three legendary Pokémon work together to put out the flames, they also steal Shoko and Trish's Pokémon from their Trainers. After negotiating with them, Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion agree to give the stolen Pokémon back to their original owners.

When Team Plasma makes their attack on the Pokémon League, Shoko and several other Trainers help face the Seven Sages so that Black can make his way to battle with N. Although they are not that strong, Shoko helps free the kidnapped Gym Leaders by having her Patrat bite through the ropes binding them in place.

Shoko hosts the Patrat Show at Marvelous Bridge. She made her debut there because of Trish's encouragement and support of Shoko's talent. In turn, Shoko was the reason that Trish wanted to pursue a dream that wasn't easy to attain.

Patrat (×4)
Shoko's Patrat

Shoko owns four different Patrat. She uses them for her Patrat Show on the Marvelous Bridge, where she gives away a Big Mushroom to those who correctly guess which Patrat is holding it. During the battle against the Seven Sages at the Pokémon League, the Patrat were used to free the Gym Leaders by biting through the ropes that held them to their crosses.

Their only known move is After You.

In the core series games

Shoko appears as a nameless character in Black and White. She is first encountered at the Village Bridge, where she decides to make a new start for herself and her Patrat. She then runs off with her four Patrat quickly following after her. Afterwards, she can be found at the Marvelous Bridge, where she hosts her Patrat Show. She does not make an appearance in Black 2 and White 2.
