Adding transfer-only moves to Pokedex pages
I don't know if I can word this better myself, so I'm going to quote Nescientist.
- Sumwun and I believe that, for the moves, an additional section "By transfer from an earlier generation" would be sensible. (Please refer to User talk:Force Fire#Transfer-only moves and ability changes.) The addition of this subsection would enable users to tell what moves <species> can know (in <game/generation>) at one glance.
- It's very well possible even Tiddlywinks is underestimating how difficult it is to answer the "know in <game/generation>" question (as much as I initially did). As Sumwun said at the referenced talk page, currently, you'd have to click at least up to 6 links to learnset pages, assuming you already know by heart how transfer works (and that you can't transfer Pokémon from GO by any means, which is what I actually doublechecked). And additionally, you might have to actually neglect irrelevant sections on learnset pages (for example, in USUM/GenVII, Bulbasaur cannot know AncientPower AFAIK). (If there's a faster method, I'd like to hear it.)
- And I can't stress how important I think that question is, for I believe it is the central question to that species and learnset pages should be providing an answer to (the use case). It all boils down to that use case: in Tiddlywinks' words, what's the "concern" species/learnset pages try to address? I can't sketch a question/use case that would include "By events" but not "By transfer from a prior generation". (Well, for USUM, I can sketch the question "What moves can <species> with black clover know?", but that's arguably a "special" case, and probably comp-centric*.) I would like to know what you guys think that use case should be.
- Regarding Tiddlywinks' comment about this coming from a "specific focus like comp/challenges", I took some time to think about that. Apart from the fact that I don't think the use case is comp-centric even, it is also not subjective, but purely factual, unlike the questions you said "we're never going to do" (and, by the way, I agree we shouldn't). For example, I recall that I once designed a team for my next playthrough, and I was searching possible moves for them. From context, I can recreate it must've been for XY before ORAS came out, because I wanted my Swinub to have a good Special Ground-type STAB and ended up breeding it in an earlier generation so I could teach it Earth Power via move tutor, then transfered (and traded) it to the new save file. I don't think that I ever was, in any point in time, trying to answer a question where I required all current subsections but not "By transfer from a prior generation".
- I would like to know what you guys think that use case should be, and whether you think the suggestion subsection is sensible.

Unban from the Forums!
In case this hasn't been solved by the time you read this, and if you can do anything about it: I was just banned from Bulbagarden for two days for forgetting that posting Downfall parodies is not acceptable on the site. I, however, have things I need to attend to at the forums. Please, help me be unbanned early if you in any way can. I've understood my mistake and promise not to repeat it. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 18:53, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

Image edit requests
The VS model for May with a Mega Bracelet has finally been uploaded. However, while it was upgraded in quality today, its dimensions and/or size don't quite match what I think they're supposed to be. Is it possible for you to do something about it, or should I instead ask for the person who uploaded it to do it instead. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:47, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- I'll contact the user. It's best they know for future reference. - Chosen of Mana 13:52, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- The quality of the images from SM103 is not the best possible, and have the TVTokyo logo on them. If you can, could you fix them? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:26, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- Nice work, as always! Although you missed one, which could also use a better shot. Also, I wonder if the baby Kangaskhan picture should be updated with a shot from the newest episode, like this one? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 21:22, 9 January 2019 (UTC)

The VS models I mentioned several weeks ago have still not been edited. However, I wondered if the issue with them could be solved by cropping away a little empty space from their sides? Also, I was wondering if you could upload a version of a:File:SM022.png that more resembles the previous version of the picture. I don't think the pose of Pallosand's "arms" is quite natural in the current version of the image. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:31, 1 February 2019 (UTC)

- The core problem lies in the fact the image should be taller, but just adding more pixels to the top will cause the image to be off-center and badly scaled compared to the others. Trying to resize it manually from there will likely distort the image and lessen its quality as well. - Chosen (Talk) 15:28, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Here again. This time I'm in need of logoless versions of two SM111 images: the Dare da? image and the MHA reference image. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:03, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- The MHA reference is definitely intentional. The similarity is uncanny, as you can see by comparing James's angry face to this image. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:35, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- I agree with Chosen, it's just a generic angry face you see in every other anime, it's not exclusive to My Hero Academia.--ForceFire 16:20, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
- Show me a picture of one other anime with exactly those kinds of eyes, and I can agree. Until then, I think you're both being overly skeptical. Even I, a person who's never watched MHA, am convinced the resemblance is uncanny. Aren't the pictures I provided enough of a proof? The Sun & Moon series has been filled with facial references like this to different animes many times before, so why not here as well? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:29, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Help requests
I have couple things I'd like to ask your help/advice with:
- 1) I'm planning to continue creating articles for Orre game Key Items, which I accidentally stopped midway through months ago. However, could you help in splitting the Sun and Moon Shards article into two separate articles, similar to how the Fossil articles were split some time ago? Thank you.
- 2) Do you think Mallow's Tsareena could've been confirmed to have used Sweet Scent in the episode where it evolved for the second time? This issue has been going on for months already, which frustrates me, since it seems to obvious. Its first two stages have been confirmed to have used that move, but some users doubt that its third stage has, despite the move being animated identically at each stage. What do you think? Or should I ask some other admin about this?
Thank you in advance. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:53, 2 March 2019 (UTC)
- Well? Can you help me with these? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:09, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
The MHA reference
I've already brought this up with Force Fire, but just in case, I'm also bringing it up here: the angry eyes that James makes in SM111 are definitely not any regular angry anime eyes. Check these two images as examples of regular angry white anime eyes, and then compare them to these two images from MHA. Don't you think the difference is pretty obvious? Also, as I've already said, the Sun & Moon series loves making visual references to other anime. What's the reason to doubt this was intentional? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:14, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
SM113
Can something be done episode about this? https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=SM113&diff=prev&oldid=2941584 An episode simply referencing a past episode isn't trivia worthy in the slightest. Aromatherapy
As it has been stated many times before, moves need to be named or have to have a unique animation, so why did a user add the recurring Shaymin in the anime as one who has used the move? I keep having to tell people like Finnishpokefan that moves need to be stated, but they keep adding them despite this and then add them back when they've been removed for not being stated. I thought this rule was meant to be followed, but it keeps getting ignored. Playerking95 (talk) 13:46, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

How should I do this?
Yesterday, I merged most of the SM and USUM location info on most item pages, and today I've done a couple more that I missed for one reason or another. Now, as far as I'm aware, only the location infosvof Pearl and Big Pearl need merging. The reason why I'm asking for help here is that those items can be found on Ula'ula Beach, a location that changed its name between the two sets of games, and I'm not sure how this should handled while fusing the location lists together. How do you think it should be handled? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:58, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
- In this case I would either do Secluded Shore/[[Ula'ula Beach or keep them separate. Note that some pages, where the stories of SM and USUM diverge signigigantly, such as Beast Ball, they are kept separate. - Chosen (Talk) 22:30, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think I'll do it the way you described. My policy has basically been that of any obtainment method is shared between the two sets of games, the descriptions can be combined. This obviously doesn't fit with the Beast Ball, so I can understand that. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:57, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- Plus, these items share most of their obtainment methods between the two sets of games, so combining the location lists for them makes sense. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:11, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

Unnecessary redirects?
I just created a page for the Poké Snack item present in Pokémon XD. I also edited a bunch of old redirect pages to go there instead of "Pokémon food#Poké Snacks". However, some of these redirect pages seem a bit redundant to me, and I was wondering if you could judge which of them perhaps should be deleted. LGPE Event
Before you rudely undid my contribution and typed in bold letters in the edit summary, I would just like to point out that Pokémon Center Birthday Chansey is also listed in the Local Event page. That distribution is also given away "by CONNECTING TO THE INTERNET with THEIR SWITCH and ENTERING A SERIAL CODE." Therefore if you would like to undo my edit, maybe you should also check for consistency as well. As there are no region locks with the switch games, it is actually unreasonable to put the Pokémon Pass event on the "American region" page as they are grouped by cartridge region rather than distribution region, meaning that all "cartridge region" LGPE game can receive the Pokémon, given that they have the code. This would mean that (based on your logic), the Pokémon Pass event info should be written on all the pages (PAL, KOR, HKTW, JPN).
If this issue has already being discussed by the Editorial Board beforehand, I do apologize for changing them back on the wiki. However, even if you are a Junior Admin for Bulbapedia, it doesn't mean that you should be talking down on people in a condescending tone. Just letting you know that I am a staff member on 52Poke wiki and basically oversees the wiki over there, and this is certainly not the way I would be acting towards contributors over there. There are already tons of things that need to be done on 52Poke and I am only editing here based on good will (let's not talk about all the other Chinese translations on Bulbapedia being incorrect and me changing them), so please refrain from using a condescending tone towards other contributors. -- Tsanger | 留言 07:45, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- First off, I would like to personally apologize for my behavior yesterday. I could come up wiht multiple excuses, but honestly, in the end, there isn't aren't any good ones. The peculiarities of Pokémon Pass make the categorization of the Shiny Pikachu and Eevee event difficult to categorize, and while I thought I had made the final decision, I think there might be some merit to discussion here, especially if Sword and Shield will continue with this method of distribution.
- As for myself, I will bring up this complaint with the others, and make sure that proper measures are taken towards disciplinary action. Perhaps some down time is what I need. - Chosen (Talk) 13:00, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- It wasn't really a complaint and I wouldn't go so far as to disciplinary actions, I was only providing my opinions. But anyways, I have been in contact with members on the Editorial Board and I believe this LGPE event issue is being discussed already. For now, I'll just leave the page as it is. -- Tsanger | 留言 13:49, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
Battle Bond
Hi, I was talking with some people about confirmed abilities and they said we can confirm ones that are linked to the species in such a way that it’s obvious they are using it, like Zoroark with Illusion or Silvally with RKS system. I was wondering if that’s the case why Greninja doesn’t have Battle Bond listed? We’ve seen it use it so many times that there’s no mistaking it as Battle Bond. --Pikablu (talk) 16:19, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
- Battle Bond was revealed as a Ability AFTER the concept of Bond Phenomenon and Ash-Greninja. Combined with a fundamental difference between how transforming into Ash-Greninja works (at will vs. after knocking out a Pokémon), there are enough degrees of separation to consider the concepts separate, or at the least, counterparts rather than the same thing, split by canon. - Chosen (Talk) 16:24, 8 July 2019 (UTC)
Pokestudios stars
What do you think about changing type pages to better present Pokesudios Stars Opponents, like here? I think there is no point leaving it with question mark minisprite and unknown Pokedex numbers of they won't have any.--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 15:43, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
Category
I just created a category for Abilities exclusive to Mega Evolved Pokémon. However, after creating it, I came to think if Abilities exclusive to form changes would fit better, since it could also include the Primal Reversion Abilities. Or is it fine as it is? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:30, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- I'm not against it. Would that include abilities that change form like Multitype and Forecast? If so, I would have Form-changing Abilities be a subcategory of the new category. - Chosen (Talk) 15:35, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
- I figure that since those Abilities already belong to the Pokémon before they change their form, they're technically not exclusive to form change, unlike the Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion exclusive Abilities. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:56, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

Thief
In the most recent episode, Acerola's Gengar, which was previously seen as a wild Pokémon in the Ula'ula Island arc, was revealed to know Thief. While having a basic animation, the move was kinda similar to how Gengar stole items in its first appearance. Should we take this as it having also used Thief back then or do we say move to as only shown off now? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:02, 21 July 2019 (UTC)

Greedy Rapooh
Could we possibly change it to just Rapooh from now on. Even the official movie website refers to is as just Rapooh, as Acerola does. It's possible it's name changed after it was caught and possibly became less antagonistic. Playerking95 (talk) 15:56, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
- Even though Nanu still added the "Greedy" part, Acerola didn't, so I think think PK95 has a good point. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:09, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
- I'm am 100% in favor of this, and upon double-checking the M22 website, have descided to change most instances of "Greedy Rapooh" to "Rapooh", only using "Greedy Rapooh" or "the Greedy Rapooh" when first mentioned in the context of Why Not Give Me a Z-Ring Sometime? (See Acerola and Nugget for usage). - Chosen (Talk) 16:14, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
- Could you also move the pictures about Greedy Rapooh under a new, appropriate title? - And now Ataro says that "Greedy Rapooh" is still the Pokémon's official nickname, with "Rapooh" just being a shortening that Acerola uses. Could you move the pictures back under their original titles? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:57, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Episode Templates
Should the new episode templates be changed so that the category of Episodes in which a Mythical Pokemon appears is there, because Shaymin is always with Mallow and there's no evidence to suggest it's leaving anytime soon. Playerking95 (talk) 18:31, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
- Not to mention of Ash's Meltan. I've actually been thinking the same myself for months now, but my first request for this edit apparently went unnoticed and then I just kinda forgot to try again. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:08, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
Move problem
Hello, Chosen. How are you doing today? There’s something I need to tell you. FinnishPokéFan92 and I have a problem. It’s the episodes. Ever since SM117 came out in the dub, I was able to watch it. Then when Team Rocket showed up and stolen Sandy, Meltan and Shaymin and got out soon after, Shaymin used Aromatherapy to heal Sandy in that episode, but even though nobody said it, it was revealed in closed captions. Similar to Kiawe's Marowak's moves. We talked to Force Fire about this, but no luck, even though we was just making a point. And I always have proof about the attacks and never give out wrong info. So I dunno what we should do now since the episode is already locked along with SM124.--CoolPokéGuy (Talk) 07:46, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
- The block is over, and CPG meant SM134, not SM124, but yeah. The disagreement is that Force Fire considers SM134 the first episode where the move was used because that's the first instance when the move was called out, even though it was chronologically first used in SM117, as verified by the closed captions. Templates even use the term "First Used In", which I clearly see meaning the first instance where the move was used, not when it was first called out. Could you help solve this for us? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:37, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of the images i uploaded
I want you to delete the images of Scottie and Bettie for the following reasons:
1. The name I put is incorrect in some respects.
2. I think there's some problem in it because every time I upload a better version of it, it just re-upload the first version.
I'm thinking of re-uploading the correct picture with suitable resolution and with the right name as an entirely new image (not re-uploading on the current one).
I'll upload the right photos in 2 days and link it to the required pages, so I want you to delete the current ones afterwards...
After all, sorry for my bad English(if so). Regards..... --> 『★¥♠§H♂』 (『†@!K™』) 17:55, 25 September 2019 (UTC)

- Regarding the "reuploading", keep in mind it may take a while for the Archive to update the cache for the image, especially with such frequent edits. As for the names, I'd be happy to move them myself. Don't worry about the location of the Talk: page either, it's just a preference for keeping things organized. - Chosen (Talk) 02:25, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
Small Bouquet
I've been wondering: since the Small Bouquet item from the Let's Go games can't be sold and can only obtained once per playthrough, could it be considered a Key Item instead of a regular item? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:54, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
- While the Small Bouquet fits several of the qualifications of a Key Item, it has a number counter and was likely not intended or programmed as one. In this way, its circumstances are similar to a Master Ball in the Generation I games. - Chosen (Talk) 20:41, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
- Ah. I hadn't noticed it had a number counter. In that case, it's obviously not a Key Item. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 21:09, 21 October 2019 (UTC)

How would I do this?
To my understanding, the Mystery Dungeon community doesn't have many walkthroughs. I would consider making a few, or editing them to make them better b/c I have played, found all secrets, and finished all postgames to all except explorers of darkness. It would help the Mystery dungeon community b/c I have this info. but this site wont allow me to create new Posts. I have already made 2 minor edits to mystery dungeon, but those were, as I said, Minor. Please, when you get time, help me out. (I mean, you dont "bite" so, XD) - unsigned comment from Superuxie (talk • contribs)
- If you want to specifically work on a walkthrough, we have an entire category of walkthroughs that can always use improvments, from major chapters to be created to making sure existing pages are brought up to Bulbapedia's quality standards. Our Gates to Infinity and Super Mystery Dungeon walkthroughs are practically empty.
- For more information, I would check out the Project Walkthroughs portal - Chosen (Talk) 22:49, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
Template questions
How should Dynamax or Gigantamax be notified at an NPC Trainer's party Pokémon template? Also, how long is it going to take before the Mega Evolution template for Let's Go will be ready to use? Or the template for Let's Go in general? It's been ages, so I'd assume some progress with them must have been made by now. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 23:11, 10 December 2019 (UTC)
- Could you edit
trainerentry
and remove the redirects given for "Macro Cosmos's" to "Macro Cosmos" and "GAME FREAK's" to "GAME FREAK"? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:33, 17 December 2019 (UTC)- Do you have the authority to do that? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:57, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
- I removed the redirects on the basis that all GAME FREAK teams are done with a full party template, and Macro Cosmos's is used for members of Macros Cosmos.
- As for Dynamax and PE, the reason a proper solution has been so slow to find is mainly any template used would need to use as little switches - such as #switch:, #if:, ect. - as possible. As of right now, I have two templates in my userspace designed to address these problems. I would also look at TehPerson's template. -Chosen (Talk) 21:07, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

Go (SS006)
With Go setting out to catch every Kanto Bug type in SS006, would they be entitled to a page of their own? My theory is though Go will (if he does) catch them, he may not use them, a bit like Red in origins if you get what I mean--BigDocFan (talk) 19:59, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
- They should be handled the way Kiawe's Charizard was, who, despite belonging to Kiawe, did not get a page dedicated to it until enough was revealed about it. This kind of approach is also used with Crystal's reserves in Adventures, many of which are only mentioned in passing. - Chosen (Talk) 20:15, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

Battle Tower
I've got a couple questions regarding the Battle Tower in Sword and Shield:
- Should the article be moved to "Battle Tower (Generation VIII)" instead of "Battle Tower (Galar)" to maintain consistency with the other Battle Tower articles?
- Right not, the Battle Tower is included in the "Legendary locations" template, due to the Type: Null that can be received in there. Should we count gift Legendary locations into that template or not? If yes, then such locations from Alola should be added there too. If not, then the Battle Tower link should be removed from that template. And either way, could you change the "Energy Plant" link on the template into "Tower Summit?
PS. The link at Wyndon Stadium's article that pointed to Wyndon being located west of it was placed that way by me to align with the Wyndon article, where the stadium is pointed to be located in the east. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:16, 26 December 2019 (UTC)

Based on the Japanese supplementary material list Ash either owns Mimey right now or caught it and then gave it to his mom. So is it alright to add the category that it's his Pokemon and update his page and template for this info? Reinhartmax (talk) 14:46, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
- While I'm okay with it, I would advise aginst saying he currenly owns it now. Because of the ambiguious nature of its ownership, or even how it was captured, if we put it anywhere on Ash's template, I would put it as "Status unknown" right under Squirtle and Primeape. - Chosen (Talk) 14:52, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

Mini Sprites
Since we know that rest of the Pokemon will be available in SwSh, shouldn't Bulbapedia already use new mini sprites of old Pokemon?--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 17:34, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
- The immediate problem, as it has been since Let's Go Pikachu! and Eevee!, with this is that new sprites for all the Pokémon have not been released. If Pokémon HOME has updated/resized sprites for the remaining Pokémon, great, but until then, we are waiting for its release.
- The second problem is the size. The SwSh MSs we do use are not only squared, but halved in size and centered to fit in our templates, and even then, it has taken a lot of doing and coding to make them look right. Applying these 68x68 sprites to every template that uses them will require a lot of adjustment on our end. - Chosen (Talk) 18:00, 15 January 2020 (UTC)

I am new on this place. I want to know how do I add photos to articles. For example, I want to add a photo of the health bar from the Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! games. I have a nice picture that would be perfect, but I cannot upload it for some reason. I also have a picture of the move Snap Trap that I cannot upload. Can you help me upload photos? Or if not, can I send you the photos for you to add yourself instead? PeakA (talk) 05:51, 23 January 2020 (UTC)

I would be happy to help. Before you upload them, make sure they are both in .png format. - Chosen (Talk) 16:17, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
Red Gyarados: Owned or Not?
Should Ethan, Kris, and Lyra be counted as Trainers with Shiny Pokémon due to the forced battle with the Red Gyarados. I've previously not added them to this category due to there not being a requirement for necessarily catching the Red Gyarados, but what is your opinion? Or should Red Gyarados's location be listed as "With the player or Lake of Rage"? What do you think? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:30, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
- I don't think they should be. There's a reason why they don't have the Legendary/Mythical category either. - Chosen (Talk) 16:32, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
- Agreed. That's exactly the reason why I've given the Legendary/Mythical category only to the player characters who are forced to capture a Legendary as part of the game plot. While it's technically avoidable in Black and White, the lore in Black 2 and White 2 still mentions both of the dragons being owned. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:37, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
Seaking
I had a question regarding the Seaking Ash caught in Johto. Like Mimey, it is also included among Ash's Pokémon in the Heisei History of Pocket Monsters: From Tuesday to Thursday, and Then Sunday special, alongside other "temporary" Pokémon like Beedrill and Raticate. Should it also be considered as one of Ash's "main" Pokémon rather than just a temporary one and be moved from the temporary section to the released section on the Ash Ketchum article? Satsjoe (talk) 15:08, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- The Mimey decsicion was made based on multiple pieces of concurrent evidence, as shown in its trivia section. Seaking, however, only has this one screenshot to go on. In addition, Mimey is a recurring Pokémon character whose role has recently been expanded, appearing in a Poké Ball for the first time since its debut, and being used in a battle with Ash. Meanwhile, while Seaking was caught and released in the same episode. - Chosen (Talk) 15:49, 27 January 2020 (UTC)

Could you delete "Category:Trip's Pokémon"? Ever since Trip's Conkeldurr lost its article status, Serperior was the only a Pokémon in that category, so it's probably pretty unnecessary to maintain it. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:12, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

Signal Beam
If you compare Golurk's attack with the most recent Signal Beam and Psybeam animations from the anime, you'll see that the color and overall characteristics of the attack are way more similar, and I dare say identical, to the former rather than the latter. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:30, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
Help?
I'm having trouble making out what one word in Anorith's Pokédex entry is in AG102. Specifically what's the well-developed body part it mentions? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:33, 25 February 2020 (UTC)

I need help. Made a mistake in Zero Isle North page.
Hello, Sorry to bother you.
I made a mistake. You see, I like things to be tidy and in order when it comes to information. I recently went back to re-playing PMD Explorers of Sky. I was browsing the different location pages and noticed that some items were missing from some pages item lists, that some item lists had the items out of order or that some lists of items lacked formatting (Being just a bullet list).
All of this little things (yes, I know) bothered me, so I created an account and started to add things to lists when I found an item in a dungeon that was missing, adding locations for the TMs in the TMs page, rearranging items in order, etc. Then I found the Zero Isle North page (https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Zero_Isle_North).
I noticed that all the pages followed the same order (Pokémon Encountered, Items), this one page didn't and the items list was just a poorly made bullet list. So I started by the items list. I rearranged the items list, put them in a table, erased duplicate items, etc. When I finished I saved it.
My next step was to flip the order of the Pokémon Encountered list and the Items list. And this is were it went awry. The system let me put the Pokémon list at the top, but then it didn't let me put the items list at the bottom. It told me that the action I performed matched the "Vandal filter 2" abuse rule. I thought to myself, oh no I better put them in the order they were then. Except that when I tried to do that it didn't let me either, it kept repeating the same abuse rule error.
So, what all of this means, is that the Zero Isle North page now has the same Pokémon Encountered list twice and no Item list. I'm really sorry for causing trouble. It was not my intention. I guess I better go back to playing instead of messing with things that I shouldn't.
Sorry again. And sorry for the lenth. Sophie-Wolf (talk) 03:45, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
- First off, thanks for contributing to Bulbapedia. I deleted the Encounter second list and replaced it with an item list, including a list of items found in Sealed Chambers. In the future, remember you can undo edits from the history page. - Chosen (Talk) 13:18, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
- Oh, I forgot about that in my panic. Thanks. --Sophie-Wolf (talk) 00:04, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
Am I a vandal?
[21:58, 1 April 2020 (UTC)] I attempted to remove part of the Missingno talk page because I moved it to the 'M (00) talk page. I tried it and it said I needed to sign my post. The second time, it said it was not allowed because of "Vandal Filter 3." Am I a vandal and I don't know it, or am I totally right in thinking I am not one? G. Maxwell (talk • contribs • d. contribs)
- Removing content from Talk: pages is against Talk: page policy. - Chosen (Talk) 23:56, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

Mew (anime)
I've started work on a page for Mew and was wondering if you could give me a hand--BigDocFan (talk) 15:26, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Type Expert
Hey, would it be a problem if I add this on Type Expert page? (Or you can do that if you want.) That page is just pure text now what doesn't really fit Bulbapedia's standards.--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 14:54, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- That Type expert draft was an idea I threw around early 2017 to solve the problems staff had with the current state of the Type expert page. Unfortunately, we concluded that it was not a viable alternative, given the amount of bloat it could cause for the page. - Chosen (Talk) 15:41, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- Because of the images? It doesn't seem a problem to me. Even so, I think it wouldn't be hard come up with alternative.--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 19:34, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
Category split
I saw how you split the category I had created for Trainers with Legendary or Mythical Pokémon. And that is perfectly fine with me. It's just about another thing: while you edited links to those categories, you also removed links to some deleted categories: Trainers with giant, Fossil, or baby Pokémon. However, dozens of those links still remain. Want to help me remove them, or should we ask someone to make BulbaBot remove them for us? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:43, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- I can handle some right now. I was hoping it would be taken care of by but that doesn't seem to be the case. - Chosen (Talk) 20:01, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
- Same. Thank you! --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:07, 6 May 2020 (UTC)
Sync Pairs list
Hi, I wanted to propose this change for the Sync Pairs list, since all evolutionary lines, forms and the male and female protagonists are listed separatly, I suggest to regroup them in just one slot, since they are actually one sync pair, or things like the Egg starters would occupy 18 slots instead of 3 (1 for each stage, doubled for both genders of the player character), but their infos are the same since is the same Sync Pairs.
Unfortunately I cannot make the edit since the page think I want to make vandalism, I already posted the new scheme in the talk page totally done (just missing the Torterra's Masters icon since I think nobody upload it) and the player characters link is unavaible since they have two separate pages and I don't know how to make double link in the same spot.
https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Talk:Sync_pair
Another suggestion for make the list better is order the characters with their Sync Pairs story order (divided by gen) instead of release order.--Zarxiel94 (talk) 14:31, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
Contributing to the appearance of Urshifu.
Hi there, I wanted to contribute to the appearance of Urshifu since I see it hasn't been added yet. Sadly I've only written a basic description with the minor differences between the two and the stances they take, but I hope it is usable. I'll add it into here, if that's okay, but if not then it's completely understandable!
[ Urshifu is a large bipedal Pokémon resembling a humanoid Asian Black Bear with a Wushu motif. It has a muscular build with long legs and long arms with large paws and claws for striking. Its body and head are covered in gray, black, and white fur, minus the yellow muzzle. The front of Urshifu's pelt slightly resembles a traditional frog buttoned (also known as braid buttoned) Kung Fu/Tai Chi uniform used for Wushu and general relaxation by Chinese elders whilst the hanging off ends on both front and back might take inspiration from Shaolin uniforms. The fur on top of Single Strike and Rapid Strike form's head and legs will go up or down depending on the form. The spikier fur on the heads of both Single Strike and Rapid Strike form flare up or out respectively into a flowing headband with the only consistency between forms being the colors: white on top, black on bottom. The design of the back of Urshifu's hands and knuckles which are white in color over black fur might be a potential reference to the gloves found in mixed martial arts and sometimes in Wushu fighting; Urshifu's feet also share the white knuckles which may be a reference to kick boxing, another style of Wushu martial arts.
Both forms Urshifu take unique stances based on a mixture real styles of martial arts:
Single Strike's stance is based on a mixture of Tiger style and Leopard style, styles based on precise, strong and direct strikes which can give meaning to Single Strike's unique move, Wicked Blow; which always lands in a critical hit and described to be a singular, strong punch and references both Leopard style's way of looking to take down opponents as swiftly as it can and Tiger style's direct attack with overwhelming strength and power.
Rapid Strike's stance is based on a mixture of Crane style and Seven Star Mantis style, styles based around flowing movements, balance, dodging, deflecting, and tactile overwhelming blows, just like Rapid Strike and its signature move, Surging Strikes; which is given a further nod to the movements given and flowing, flurrying strikes delivered in the Japanese name: Streaming Strikes. ]
References used are Gnoggin (cross-referenced for accuracy), extensive searches of martial arts outfits and styles (Wikipedia included), and staring at Urshifu in-game for an unhealthy amount of hours.

- I don't ususually dabble into making in-depth biology and origin descriptions on Pokémon. However, if you posted this on Talk:Urshifu (Pokémon), I beleive you could collaborate on them with other users in a more public space. - Chosen (Talk) 18:37, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
Masters Trainer teams
Like you just added lists of Scottie and Bettie's Pokémon on their respective pages, other Trainers appearing in Masters should probably have their Pokémon listed on their own pages too. Are you going to add more of those lists in the future, or was this just as an example using the player characters? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:39, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
New Menusprites
I think that menusprites of certain Pokémon with new menusprites from LGPE/Gen VIII should be updated to such. - - unsigned comment from PKMN Trainer Ryan (talk • contribs)
- I have been working on implementing that since SwSh's release. I have the sprites ready, but because of the uneven nature of which sprites got updated, there were a number of questions as to how to handle this update. Even ones that seem unchanged have different details, and may use more colors. The chief concern, as I see it right now, will be updating the Catch/entry templates to accomodate the new coding that handles MS overflow, as seen in Template:Catch/entry8. This would require overhauls of not just the other Catch/entry templates, but the headers too.
- There is also the matter of the Nintendo Badge Arcade to consider, and its corresponding Archives category. Because the number of Pixel badges that explicitly use 3DS-era sprites, it will be necessary to move all applicable sprites to a new name first. Note that a:File:003MS.png currently redirects to a:File:003XYMS.png.
- Doing all this will require a number of Moderators on hand during a low time of server activity, say late night in the Americas, so coordinating that effort has been difficult. - Chosen (Talk) 13:28, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
Learnset changes
I noticed you're blanking the learnset sections of a bunch of pokemon so that they say "it isn't available in gen 8". Wouldn't it be better to keep gen 7 as the default listing? Its faster and easier to access, the most current listing, and saying it doesn't appear in 8 doesn't actually provide anything useful. That could have a disclaimer at the top where it says "choose a generation learnset - 5 6 7 8" where 8 is greyed out or has a tt tag under it. Pallukun (talk) 14:22, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
- The idea behind the implementation is to keep all information relevant to the current generation and consistent with the Pokémon that are in Sword and Shield, instead of making those pages look out of date. - Chosen (Talk) 14:28, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
Goh's Sobble
Was wondering if you could give User:BigDocFan/Goh's Sobble a look over and help get it ready for mainspacing--BigDocFan (talk) 16:31, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
- While I think its a fine article so far, I don't think it has done anything of signifigance since its capture. Being a Starter Pokémon, I don't doubt it will, but we can't have ourselves jumping the gun here. - Chosen (Talk) 16:34, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
Goh's giant Magikarp
Hey. Goh's giant Magikarp meets all the requirements. Is User:Reinhartmax/Goh's Magikarp ready for mainspacing? Thanks. --Reinhartmax (talk) 16:13, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
- While I beleive Magikarp is one of the Pokémon on the shortlist to get a main page, right now, the staff is trying to iron out a finalized, updated notability criteria before moving forward with any more mainspacing. - Chosen (Talk) 17:30, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
Icons
Thanks for your contribution with the icons. I have a question, why do Bulbapedia mainly use the icons from generation IV and not the newest from gen VIII? Fairy one is even fanmade just for that.--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 17:26, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- Many of the templates used on Bulbapedia are built around the native size of the Generation IV icons. The Generation VIII icons and symbols would require a lot of reworking, and shrinking down the Gen VIII icons (the ones with the text) to the same size as the Gen IV ones would make them difficult to read. Keeping them like this also makes them friendlier to smaller screens, like mobile phones, as well. - Chosen (Talk) 17:31, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- Here [3] I can see only two templates using them, one about type effectiveness and second on move pages. Size is not the problem at all. Also, for me the one with bigger contrast is easier to read:
, so I don't really get it.--Rocket Grunt (Report To Me) 17:53, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

Masters category
I still don't quite understand why you're removing the Masters character category from the Pokemon pages. They appeared in the game. Can you explain why? --Reinhartmax (talk) 14:32, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- The removal is part of the overhaul to Masters/Masters EX content associated with the new (Masters) pages (i.e. Red (Masters)). After the pages are complete, users should defer to these pages for information about both the Trainer and their Pokémon's appearance in the game. Note that, for example, Red (game) is no longer in the category as well. - Chosen (Talk) 14:42, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- Got it. Thanks. --Reinhartmax (talk) 14:44, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
Masters character question
I perfectly understand why you decided to make the ""Masters characters" category exclusive to human characters. But there's one character I'm unsure about: Meowth. He's listed both in the template and the category as NPCs. What's your opinion? Should be be kept there or removed? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:06, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- After discussing it other mods, we agree that Meowth still should be in the category. I will change the category's definition to be more clear. - Chosen (Talk) 14:16, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
Lycanroc

Hero duo
I was chatting to Force Fire last night about mainspacing the article on my userpage for the hero duo, his response was I would say it's fine to mainspace, but I'm not sure if we should before an actual Hero duo article gets made (be weird to have an article about the anime characters but not an article for the duo). Was wondering if you could maybe do a page for them outside of the anime as I'm not certain how to organize one.--BigDocFan (talk) 13:56, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
- Wouldn't it be better in this case to add the information of these Pokémon in manga, games and other media as well? I don't think their role will be much different from what we saw in the anime.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 14:37, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

Cram-o-matic information on item pages
I'd like to discuss the way Bulbapedia will represent the type and value of the item when inserted into the Cram-o-matic (on item pages).
As I have seen on the Air Balloon page, this edit added the Cram-o-matic table that lists the type and value. However, I'd like this to be represented in the item infobox. I made this template for such a purpose, which even has an example use, with Fire Memory. When I mean [...] we need to find a way to make it continuous with Template:ItemInfobox/Fling, then I mean the Fling template has to be adjusted so the lower corner rounding can be disabled if needed, by the use of a parameter and the
parser function.
Is my idea good? I will also discuss it with some other staff members. --C.Ezra.Msomething to say? 10:26, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

I just received some very interesting information at Bulbagarden Forums today, in regards to some behind-the-scenes information. You can see it here and here. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:10, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
- The first link does not work, however, I can tell you from the second link that since these are not sources from the orignal Japanese version of the anime, they cannot be considered true confirmation, however, I beleive they make for valid trivia points. - Chosen (Talk) 18:17, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Type effectiveness table
Hey, I would like to make a suggestion for type effectivness table, like one here: [4]. In my opinion it is very ugly and outdated by 11 years, so I've made this one:
Offensive of Flying-moves | ||
---|---|---|
Super effective (×2): | Not very effective (×½): | No effect (×0): |
None | ||
Defensive of Flying-type Pokémon | ||
No effect (×0): | Not very effective (×½): | Super effective (×2): |
Additional effects | ||

A little help
Hi Hello. Can you tell me if Bulbapedia has any restrictions on a user like me being able to rename pages? Like, do you have any limits? Do I need to ask first? Is there a section with the rules for me to take a look at?--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 23:00, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
- That would depend on the page we're talking about. Is it an existing page on the mainspace? Is it in the Userspace? Typically, for mainspace pages, a user would submit their reasoning to the corresponding Talk: page, then add
Move
to the top of it. - For the user's own User: pages, they may move them at will, so long as they adhere to Bulbapedia's Userspace policy. If they wish to submit something to be moved to mainspace, they should add
Mainspace
to it, where it may be observed by a moderator, who ensures that it is comprable in quality and notability to other mainspace articles. - Chosen (Talk) 04:10, 11 January 2021 (UTC)- Thanks. :D --Hikaru Wazana (talk) 16:10, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
