Blue's Hair

Your comments are bordering on spam. Please don't comment on a talk page unless you're contributing to the discussion, thanks. — @ 05:53, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

I just wanted everyone to stop cursing so no one gets blocked for violating policies. Can't help being compassionate.--Muk-a-matic-Maketh the Muk go round... 06:05, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Cursing is not against policy. Now if you're telling someone to hang themselves and die, that would be violating the Code of Conduct. But just saying the f word isn't really against policy. ▫▪Ťïňắ 06:07, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Talk pages

notably, stop using them so much. you have been here since July 2009 and you have made 3 edits to the mainspace, and they were on the same page and they were reverted effectively giving you ZERO EDITS to the mainspace. all you do is throw comments around, a lot of them dont even seem to be relevant. notably, i really dont like when im talking to a specific user about a specific topic, and i get an edit conflict because someone steps on my toes, especially if they do it to make a joke. if you want to make chat, joke, and fool around, go to the forums, because on BP, we have work to do. -- MAGNEDETH 07:27, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

That wasn't very nice to delete my question. It was valid. Unless a Dragon Buster is someone who hits Dragons in the head with a brick, I think it is a valid question. :--SuperAipom7 (Questions?) 01:52, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

I apologize...

I am sorry for that outburst about the Dragon Buster thing. I was cranky that night. Please forgive? :--SuperAipom7 (Questions?) 02:05, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

Covet's power

Are you getting your info from Black & White or an earlier game? Covet's power was changed between the generations I believe. --Spriteit 01:10, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

My mistake, misread what you were doing, my apologies. --Spriteit 01:11, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Warnings

Just so you know, not everyone checks the recent changes. If you want to tell someone about something, then do it on their talk page. Thank you. Ataro 16:31, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Also, screaming in edit summaries is not OK in the least bit. Next time, just say "Site notice says no trivia, please don't add it." If they continue, then you go to their userpage and let them know. There's no need to caps lock rage in the edit summaries. Thanks. --P S Yライダー
Please don't threaten bans. Only people that can actually block users should threaten bans (with the exception of junior admins that are in a discussion with someone who can). The decision to block someone is up to the admins. It's not your place to tell admins to block someone. Tell us what they've done, and leave us to decide. Threatening blocks is a rather hostile action. It is better to explain to them why what they are doing is wrong, and that continuing to do it could be considered vandalism. We would rather new users are nurtured to become good users than intimidated and ultimately scared off by an atmosphere of fear. Werdnae (talk) 00:55, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Ash's Torterra edit

Kind of curious about the removal of one of the trivia pieces. Do you mean that Gible never defeated Paul any of Paul's Pokemon or just in general? Frozen Fennec 21:41, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

User talk:Jimmyo.sirus

There was no need for that. At all. Instead of yelling at the user, explain to him what not to do. You've been here long enough to know that.--ForceFire 03:27, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

CoC

Please take a deep breath and read the code of conduct. The way you told this user to discontinue their behavior was completely unacceptable. It doesn't matter that he was adding false information to pages, yelling at him in ALLCAPS that he's a vandal does help if the user is intentionally vandalizing or not. In this case, the user appeared to be adding speculation, not outright vandalizing the page. Even if the user was a vandal, yelling at them is only going to make things worse, as i just encourages them to do it more, because you gave them the response they were looking for.

Now in regards to the message you left on my talk page, it is not up to you to decide what punishments I give out to users. It is fine to inform me that they are breaking the rules, but not tell me who to permaban and who to warn. --SnorlaxMonster 03:59, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Synopses and summaries

First of all, short synopses are okay as long as they cover the entire episode, or the general idea of the episode. They can just be placeholders, since something is better than nothing. But it has to cover the entire episode, and it must be of good quality. But don't just get rid of a synopsis just because it's short.

Secondly, stop using all caps. It makes you looking like you're screaming, and it's seriously uncalled for. Shouting doesn't help anyone. No one wants to be shouted at, and you wouldn't like someone shouting at you, so don't do it to others. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 03:37, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Spelling

I apologize for approaching you about this days after the fact, but I noticed in your recent contributions a couple instances where you seemed to be making somewhat snarky comments in your edit summaries when correcting spellings such as "defence" and "practise."

I just wanted to inform you that these spellings are not incorrect - they are merely the British spellings of the words, and while we do use American English here on Bulbapedia, that is no reason to berate British editors (or editors of other nationalities that use the British spellings, but in the cases I saw both editors were from England) when "correcting" words that, so far as they are concerned, are spelled correctly. You need only point out that we use the American spellings and leave it at that.

I wasn't sure if you were aware, so I just thought I'd let you know for in the future! 梅子 04:25, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Website notability

Hi, I did reply to your comments on my user page here, but I dont know if you saw it. Anyway let me know what you think. What criteria would you judge website notability on? - unsigned comment from DisgruntledGoat (talkcontribs)

Your behaviour

Cease your antagonistic behaviour immediately. There is no reason to stop people from making suggestions simply because they are from Wikia. Wikia users are more than welcome to make suggestions to improve articles. Your behavour towards these users is nothing short of appalling, especially as they have gone out of their way to be friendly and ensure they aren't stepping on any toes. If you can't keep from making attacks on users when you comment, then don't comment. In future, read all comments you make as if they were addressed to you. If it doesn't seem nice, then don't say it. This will be your last warning for code of conduct violation. Werdnae (talk) 02:09, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

BW087

The source isn't from Serebii himself (though I still maintain he should be an acceptable source, given his track record with inside information), it's from someone on the forum who's translated what was said in the preview. If that's still not acceptable, by all means, ask someone from here to translate the preview and see what they say. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 00:40, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

A confusion about the ability of Ash's Quilava

Hello, this is Shaan here;

I have seen the correction you made on the Ability of Ash's Quilava after my edit.

As per the episode EP152 (Hot Matches!), it seemed to me that, Ash's Quilava (that time as Cyndaquil) showed its ability to be Blaze during its rematch with Miki's Skarmory. Can you please have a look at it?

I will be glad to receive your answer.

Regards,

- Shaan E Millat 18:07, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Cyndaquil didn't use Blaze in that episode, its flame was just burning stronger to show that it still has energy left. Besides, Abilities were introduced in Ruby and Sapphire, which were released over two years after the episode aired. And of course nobody in the episode said it was Blaze.--Den Zen 19:08, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Gender of Tracey's Marill

Now I understand the idea of the mechanics in the anime and the games not necessarily being 1:1. However, it doesn't make any sense for them not to be. Every other mechanic I can think of works at least similarly between the two, and those that don't are for the simple reason that certain things just make no sense in a real-world scenario.

As it stands for breeding, if the people who created the mechanics of the games had anything to do with the mechanics of the anime, then it would stand to reason that the mechanics would be 1:1. Thus, by this logic, Tracey's Marill, who has a child in Misty's Azurill, would be the female of whichever union created the egg.

On a tangential note, the above Azurill knows Refresh (move). The only way for this Pokémon to learn this move is for it to know it through breeding. In this scenario, the father of the Pokémon must know the move. The only way this could happen in this case is for the father to be a Corsola (Pokémon), and the only way that this makes sense is for Misty's Corsola to know Refresh and to be Azurill's father. Of course, said Corsola has never been shown in the anime to know Refresh, so I am speculating, but does that not make sense? StAugustineVI (talk) 23:34, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

In regards to the section which used to be here

In this case, two edits four days apart with no reason as to why it was removed shouldn't be considered an edit war. I request that you be a bit more lenient on users that are new (or that have returned from ahttp://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/skins/common/images/button_sig.png long period of inactivity). By reminding them of the rules in a polite manner, rather than simply stating them, you may be able to avoid this whole situation. I realise that the edit summaries have a character limit, so are often relatively blunt. For this reason, it is usually better to use talk pages for the reminder, and just explain why you are undoing their edit in the edit summary.

If someone does attack you, I must ask that you don't respond. This prevents accidentally angering the other person further. I realise you didn't intend for the situation to blow up like it did. I'm hoping that this will allow you to prevent similar arguments from escalating to such an extent in the future. Have a nice day. Werdnae (talk) 02:30, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

While I remember, did anyone contact you in regards to the VM you sent me in regards to Ace Trainer Glinda in BW? I was away at the time, so I just passed it on, but I can't tell if anything actually happened as a result. Werdnae (talk) 03:22, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
No. Did you or anyone else check it? I still try it every 4 days, and it seems like it is some sort of fan rumor or misrepresentation. Black's version doesn't work either. I seriously doubt that a rematch is possible at this point...and I tried to be professional with Impossible, but his antagonistic attitude, combined with his uncanny similarity in speech pattern to Kuki's SandmanDP account(Especially when angry), made me go on in an attempt to keep him busy long enough to get him IP checked. He sounds like a peaced-out version of that guy, and I assumed(while not trying to exude authority in any way) it was another persona Kuki had taken on...I take it the IP check proved otherwise? Again, sorry for it all, and please check up on the Glinda matter. Thanks,--Muk-a-matic-Maketh the Muk go round... (talk) 07:45, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
I didn't have the ability to check, I was hoping that once I'd passed it on, someone else would. I'll have to follow up on it.
Next time you think someone's a sock, just let us know and leave it to the staff. We'll get them before too long. There's no need to keep them busy. Werdnae (talk) 08:54, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Final Gambit and Focus Sash interaction, or: what constitutes a reliable source

Hello!

I noticed that you reverted my edit to the Final Gambit article.

I'm not going to be one of those people who gets really mad because of things like that. I made an edit without knowing the process around here, it got reverted, that's to be expected.

I would like to know, however, what qualifies as a reliable and permitted source? What would I have to do for my changes not to be reverted? —Zarel (talkc) 01:07, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Either literally quotable material from the Japanese version of the game/anime/manga/TCPi-licensed materials or locations(tangible or otherwise), the game's coding, or statements form Game Freak/TCPi/Nintendo staff. More information is provided in a link by your welcome template. If these do not help, contact an administrator, starting with a Junior, and if they cannot help, move up the authority ladder accordingly. That's all I can say as a regular user.--Muk-a-matic-Maketh the Muk go round... (talk) 01:21, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
Smogon's research threads are reliable sources. Please ensure that they are being read accurately however. The part of our article that was referring to it bypassing Focus Sash, etc. was referring to the user of the move, whereas Smogon was referring to the target - they weren't contradictory and neither was wrong. SnorlaxMonster has since clarified our article to try and prevent confusion. Werdnae (talk) 02:26, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Secret Power

You referred me to SnorlaxMonster's Talk Page. Neither "secret power" nor "serene grace" is there. This was actually debugged from the game, not from empirical tests.

Don't believe me? Test the trigger at 021E11FC in White; when Secret Power is used the game will use a rand(100)<30 call that is inside the move itself. Once it does this it can then do the effect based on the terrain; it's not a typical secondary effect call. Here's the relevant assembly that is used for Secret Power's secondary effect.

Please don't rollback my edits if there's no direct proof that I'm wrong. I've crossposted a lot of technical findings from my and others' research to here; I know what I'm editing when I am :) Kaphotics (talk) 00:27, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

I'd just like to add that I have no idea which part of my talk page you were referring to either. Kaphotics has actually looked at the games' code, so he is right. --SnorlaxMonster 08:18, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Attitude

This summary was absolutely disgusting. I've spoken to Christian before one on one and he's informed me how he is capable of "seeing" the screen. There are computer softwares out there specifically for blind individuals that will read webpages for them. Just because Bulbapedia specifically doesn't have that software doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Just because someone makes mistakes does not make them a vandal. Wiki editing is a learning experience, and Christian does still have a ways to go. But insulting him the way you have is no way to go about teaching him. Your behavior was completely and utterly uncalled for. Take some time off, and come back with a more positive outlook. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 21:25, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
