An Earl (Japanese: アール Earl) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that debuted in the Battle Chateau of the Generation VI games Pokémon X and Y. The male player character can become an Earl after defeating enough Trainers in the Battle Chateau and, along with its female counterpart class Countess, is the next noble rank held by both him and trainers of the Battle Chateau after Viscount.

Opponent Earls all maintain parties of two Pokémon which are at level 25 if the player has not issued a Writ of Challenge.

Appearance

Earls can appear as a Rich Boy, a Monsieur or a Butler.
