Additional effects are the secondary effects of some, mainly damaging, moves that cause extra changes to the user or opponent.
Additional effects include recoil damage, stat changes and inflicting status conditions. Some moves have two secondary effects. For example, Flare Blitz causes recoil damage to the user and also has a chance to burn the opponent.
Items and Abilities are not considered additional effects, but three Abilities affect them. They are: Serene Grace, Sheer Force, and Shield Dust.
