A Madame (Japanese: マダム Madame), known as a Socialite until Generation VI, is a type of Pokémon Trainer introduced in Generation IV. They are depicted as rich, older women wearing exquisite clothing and accessories. Madames will generally use Pokémon based on pets or other "refined" Pokémon, like Roselia.
In the Battle Subway in Generation V, Socialites specialize in Legendary Pokémon during later battles.
In Generation VI, this Trainer class only appears in the Battle Maison, but Madames can also be found in Pokémon X and Y at the Battle Chateau as a Baroness, Viscountess, Countess, Marchioness, or Duchess. Their male counterparts appear to be the Gentleman and Monsieur classes.
In Generations VI and VII, they keep their Pokémon in Luxury Balls. In the Battle Tree, Madames who appear after the Battle Legend will primarily use Legendary Pokémon.

A Madame first appeared in That's Why the Litten is a Scamp!. She greeted her Alolan Persian, nicknamed Pershie, when it returned to her after taking Litten's food. She reappeared in Dummy, You Shrunk the Kids!, where she was chatting to a friend, unaware that Pershie had been chasing after a shrunken Ash and Lillie. She was later shocked when Pershie returned after being defeated by Mallow's Tsareena. She reappeared again in We Know Where You're Going, Eevee!, where she was trying on jewelry and didn't realize when Pershie went to chase after an Eevee. She later found Pershie when Eevee and Popplio had given it the slip.
