Motostoke Outskirts appeared in Blazing!! Bede's Feelings and Gulp Gulp!! Pokémon. After Hop had told Casey that he had seen her missing Arrokuda, Kilo, at a swamp at the Motostoke Outskirts, Casey immediately dragged him there to start searching for Kilo. They soon spotted Kilo as he was in the process of being swallowed by a Cramorant. Although Kilo ended up being swallowed completely, Casey was able to make Cramorant spit him out after figuring out how its Gulp Missile Ability works. After Casey had also rescued a Pikachu that Cramorant had swallowed as well, Hop proceeded to defeat Cramorant with his Pincurchin and catch it, revealing that he had come to the swamp in the first place to catch a Water Pokémon for use against Kabu.
