Hoenn Route 118
118番道路 Route 118
Map description
This seaside route brings together the east and west sides of the Hoenn region.
From Mauville, the route is straightforward, traveling directly east-west between the city limits and the west bank of the inlet. The western half of this path is composed of grassy terrain while the eastern portion is a sandy beach.
Inlet
An inlet divides the route into an east section and a west section. This inlet contains no characters.
Eastern segment
The eastern side of the inlet has a beach; Gabby and Ty are often found in the area, looking for up-and-coming Pokémon Trainers to battle and interview.
The route continues east, along a northern ledge. After passing through a large patch of grass, Route 118 comes to a three-way intersection. The northern path leads to Route 119, while the eastern path runs through another large patch of grass, before becoming Route 123.
Heading north from the intersection, a four-way intersection allows access to the upper areas that overlook the main path of Route 118. To the west is another Trainer, a small area of grass, and a soft soil patch containing two Sitrus Berry plants. To the east is yet another grass patch and a Hyper Potion. Continuing north, the path becomes Route 119.

Trainers with a PokéNav by their names will be registered in the Trainer's Eyes or Match Call function after the first battle, and may have a rematch with the player with higher-level Pokémon.

The music changes depending on whether the player is in the route's western part (where the music is Route 110) or the eastern part (where the music is Route 119).
In all versions of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire except Spanish and Italian, there is an oversight that causes Aroma Lady Rose to walk over a ledge the incorrect way if she sees the player on her left and walks towards them.
