Introduction

Welcome to the Gym Leader Castle. Here you will battle against the eight Pokémon Gyms, the Elite Four, and your Rival.

Basic Information

Each Gym of the Gym Leader Castle is set up with three apprentice trainers and the Gym Leader. At the start of each Gym, you will choose your team of six Pokémon, from prefabricated teams or from Rental Pokémon. In each round, you and the apprentice trainer each will choose three Pokémon to battle with. Each trainer must be defeated to progress to the next. After beating the Gym Leader, the next Gym will become unlocked.

Pewter Gym

Not much of a challenge within the Pewter Gym, as long as you have a good team.

Recommended types: Water, Grass, Flying, Electric.

Battle 1

Battle 2

Battle 3

Leader

Cerulean Gym

Not too much to worry about in this gym. Jr.♀ does like to lower your Pokémon's accuracy.

Recommended types: Electric, Grass, Fighting, Ground.

Battle 1

Battle 2

Battle 3

Leader

Vermilion Gym

This gym can mostly be beaten with Ground types. However, there are those Pokémon, such as Surge's Pikachu and Raichu, that you need to be careful with.

Recommended types: Ground, Grass.

Battle 1

Battle 2

Battle 3

Leader

Celadon Gym

This gym is a lot more tricky that the previous three. A larger distribution of types among the trainers can make the choice of team members more difficult. Watch out when facing Cool♀'s Chansey and Parasect; both love to keep your Pokémon asleep.

Recommended types: Flying, Fighting, Electric, Psychic, Fire.

Battle 1

Battle 2

Battle 3

Leader

Fuchsia Gym

The Poison-type gym. As its namesake suggests, expect to be poisoned a lot. Koga also likes to lower your Pokémon's accuracy, put them to sleep, and of course, poison them.

Recommended types: Psychic, Ground, Bug, Grass

Battle 1

Battle 2

Battle 3

Leader

Saffron Gym

This gym can be difficult in that Psychic types are powerful. Use caution with the Medium as she likes to confuse and lower the defense level of your Pokémon.

Recommended types: Bug, Psychic, Ground, Flying, Ice

Battle 1

Battle 2

Battle 3

Leader

Cinnabar Gym

A great deal of strategy is recommend for this gym. The Judoboy loves to use Focus Energy. When facing the Nerd, the Pokémon that will actually battle should be send out last, as his first two Pokémon will Explode or Selfdestruct.

Recommended Types: Water, Ground, Fighting, Flying

Battle 1

Battle 2

Battle 3

Leader

Viridian Gym

The final gym. The Lab man like to raise his Pokémon's evasiveness. Cool♂ likes to raise his Pokémon's stats and trap your Pokémon with Wrap and Bind.

Recommended types: Water, Grass, Ice, Fighting

Battle 1

Battle 2

Battle 3

Leader

Elite Four

Now, comes the Elite Four and your Rival. A well balanced and diverse team is recommended, especially because your rival's team is different due to the game that is inserted into the Transfer Pack.

Recommended types: Go diverse; play with your favorites.
