Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series
The user will inflict heavy damage on all opposing Pokémon in the room and user if it's confused. The user recharges the next turn if hits successfully. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, Dialga roars in order to resurrect the player (who has been erased from existence).
Roar of Time inflicts damage to all enemies in the same room. If the move hits a Pokémon successfully, the user is inflicted with the Status condition (Mystery Dungeon) status condition (Status condition (Mystery Dungeon) prior to Super Mystery Dungeon) for 1 turn. This status prevents the user from taking any actions.

* Roar of Time has the highest base power of any Dragon-type move.
* Despite its name, Roar of Time is not a sound-based move.
* Despite the name implying a relation to sound, Roar of Time is not blocked by Soundproof. This is because although the move is initiated by a roar, the roar is not what damages the target.
* A Devastating Drake based on Roar of Time has the highest base power of all Dragon moves.
* In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2, Roar of Time hits all Pokémon in a room. However, it hits only one Pokémon in the main series. The same happens with Spacial Rend.
* During Origin Forme Dialga and Arceus's boss battles in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, both can use a charged, undodgeable version of Roar of Time, but this attack can be cancelled by hitting them with Time and Mysterious Balms respectively, eventually stunning them.

Roar of Time (Japanese: ときのほうこう Roar of Time) is a damage-dealing Dragon-type move introduced in Generation IV. It is the signature move of Dialga.

Effect

Generation IV to VII

Roar of Time inflicts damage and then forces the user to recharge during the next turn. Unless the move fails due to missing, type immunity, or is blocked by a protection move, the user will always have to recharge the next turn.

Generation VIII onwards

In Versions 1.0 to 1.2.1 of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Roar of Time could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 1.3.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Roar of Time's base power has been lowered to 120. Instead of forcing the user to recharge, it lowers the user's action speed.

Trivia

 • Despite its name, Roar of Time is not a sound-based move.
 • A Devastating Drake based on Roar of Time has the highest base power of all Dragon-type moves.
 • During Origin Forme Dialga and Arceus's boss battles in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, both can use a charged, undodgeable version of Roar of Time, but this attack can be cancelled by hitting them with Time and Mysterious Balms respectively, eventually stunning them.
