Thundurus (Japanese: ボルトロス Voltolos) is a dual-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
While it is not known to evolve into or from any Pokémon, Thundurus has a second form activated by using the Reveal Glass. Its original form, Incarnate Forme, will then become Therian Forme.
Its Therian Forme was officially revealed on May 12, 2012.
Along with Tornadus, Landorus, and Enamorus, it is a part of the forces of nature.
In the anime, it is associated with Meloetta.

In Incarnate Forme, Thundurus is a blue, muscular humanoid Pokémon, which resembles a genie. It is a male-only species with no female counterpart. On its head is a single, long, sharp, purple horn. Thundurus has white, zigzagging, and jutting-styled hair, a spiky white mustache, and two pointed blue ears on either side of its head. Its eyes are yellow with beady white irises and no visible pupils. The front of Thundurus's body is covered in various, irregularly shaped purple spots. Its broad chest consists of two joined diamond-shaped pectorals, its shoulders and elbows are adorned with magatama shapes, and on top of its navel is a teardrop, all colored purple. It has two spotted muscular arms, with five fingers on each hand. Its lower body consists of a trailing cloud, with a thick, long, curling, purple, cable-like tail. Thundurus has six ball-like structures its tail goes through at intervals, like knots in a cord. They are a dark gray color, and each has a long, sharp spike on one side.

It is known to be disliked and feared by people and farmers for its destructive rampages which include fierce thunderstorms. It tends to cause forest fires whenever it flies around shooting lightning. Thundurus's lightning bolts can enrich the soil of any ground it hits. Any area visited by Thundurus is marked by charred remains of areas it destroyed. Thundurus has been known to get into violent conflicts with Tornadus ever since the beginning of time. Thundurus can unleash mini thunderstorms while surrounding itself with a cloud shield to protect itself from harm. Thundurus lives in the sky and around the oceans of a region. Thundurus is permanently in its Incarnate Forme while living in a region. It can unleash mini sparky whirlwinds along with surrounding itself with a wind shield to protect itself from harm.

=== | ===Forms=== | ||
Thundurus has two forms: Incarnate Forme and Therian Forme.
In Therian Forme, Thundurus is a large, blue, sleek, bipedal snake or dragon-like Pokémon. The horn on its head is now thicker and extends out more, while its ears become more pointy and pinned back. Thundurus's hair remains the same; the mustache now takes on a more raised snout and fanged-maw-like appearance, with two curving wisps flowing back and past its ears. Its eyes remain yellow, but with larger irises that still lack visible pupils. Its chest remains broad and unchanged, while its navel is bejeweled with a blue gem. Thundurus's arms have lost much of their muscular bulk, and are now slimmer. It has two paw-like hands, each covered in a trailing cloud-like fluff and with three claw-tipped fingers. Thundurus's purple lower half is much smaller than its upper body and consists of two hind legs and its tail. Its feet are elongated, with three downward curved toes and claws. Thundurus's tail also remains largely unchanged, although it is thicker at the base and tapers off, becoming thinner toward the tip.
Thundurus can shoot thunderbolts from its tail. It uses these lightning bolts to annihilate foes into nothingness. Thundurus can move so fast it can materialize without warning. The Therian Forme of Landorus is its true, original form as revealed by the Reveal Glass. It is known to travel around oceans in its Therian Form in search of a region to reside in. In this form, it is known to inhabit the Interdream Zone. The Therian Forme of Thundurus was first discovered by the Celestica people who resided in Hisui and worshiped it. Its name was coined by Professor Burnet.

Thundurus has two interchangeable forms: Incarnate Forme and Therian Forme. Its Therian Forme was introduced in B2W2.
By default, Thundurus is in its Incarnate Forme. When exposed to the Reveal Glass, it changes into its Therian Forme; if exposed to the Reveal Glass again, it reverts to Incarnate Forme. In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, Thundurus cannot be traded while in Therian Forme. This prevents Therian Forme from being traded to Black and White, where it doesn't exist.
The two forms have different base stats, Abilities, and cries. Its Therian Forme only has one possible Ability, despite its Incarnate Forme also having a Hidden Ability.

Thundurus (Japanese: ボルトロス Voltolos) is a dual-type Electric/Flying Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
Biology
Thundurus is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Wildbolt Storm.
Forms

Form data
Thundurus has two interchangeable forms: Incarnate Forme and Therian Forme. Its Therian Forme was introduced in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.
This prevents Therian Forme from being traded to Pokémon Black and White, where it doesn't exist.
The two forms have different base stats, Abilities, and cries. Its Therian Forme only has one possible Ability, despite its Incarnate Forme also having a Hidden Ability.

In A Stormy Time in the Battle Subway, Thundurus got in a battle with Tornadus near the Battle Subway. After being stopped by Landorus, the three were caught by Giallo for Team Plasma to use. Later, they were used by the Shadow Triad against the Gym Leaders in Nacrene City. These Pokémon were then given to Hood Man to experiment with how to change them to their alternate forms.

Trivia
- Thundurus and Tornadus have identical base stat distributions in their Incarnate Formes.
- Thundurus's category, the Bolt Strike Pokémon, shares its name with the move Bolt Strike in both Japanese and English; however, it cannot learn the move, which is Zekrom's signature move.
- Thundurus is the only one of the forces of nature that has a type advantage over the other members of the quartet, specifically Tornadus and Enamorus.
- In Black 2 and White 2, Thundurus's Therian Forme had the same shape as its Incarnate Forme.
- In the Generation VII games, due to a coding error, Thundurus cannot learn Smart Strike in its Therian Forme.
Origin
In Incarnate Forme, Thundurus is based on Raijin, the kami of thunder and lightning.[1] It may also have drawn some inspiration from Jinn or an Anemoi. For the latter it may be specifically inspired by the south wind Notus, who brings summer storms, which is shown in the Pokémon's connection to lightning and its signature move, Wildbolt Storm.
In Therian Forme, Thundurus most closely resembles reptiles such as serpents or dragons. It is also loosely inspired by the Azure Dragon (Chinese: 青龍 Qīnglóng) of the Chinese Four Symbols.[2] This inspiration is alluded to in Pokémon Legends: Arceus; the Azure Dragon represents the east, and in Hisui, Thundurus roams the eastern Cobalt Coastlands area. Additionally, Thundurus may be based on the Qilin, a mythical creature from East Asia described as having a horn on its forehead and occasionally associated with lightning.
Name origin
Thundurus may be derived from thunderous and possibly Aeolus (ruler of the winds in Greek mythology).
Voltolos may be a combination of volt and Αἴολος Aiolos (Greek name for Aeolus).
