The Sinnoh Underground (Japanese: ちかつうろ Underground Passage) is an area in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl in which fossils, rare stones, and gems can be found with a Minesweeper-like minigame. This is also where secret bases are created in the Generation IV games. The gems can be traded in for objects to furnish the player's base, and the minigame is the sole way to obtain the Skull or Armor Fossil, depending on the version being played. The Skull Fossil and Armor Fossil can be revived in Oreburgh City, creating the Pokemon Cranidos and Shieldon, respectively. After recieving the National Dex, the player will be able to dig up other fossils from previous generations, such as the Helix Fossil, Dome Fossil, Old Amber, Root Fossil, and the Claw Fossil. More than one can be obtained.
