(Japanese: ナットレイ Nattorei) is a dual-type Grass/Steel Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

It evolves from Tesshido starting at level 40.

Biology

Physiology

Nattorei is a Pokémon resembling a flattened durian made of metal. Its body is covered in metal thorns, with two black stripes circling its width, the lower stripe having triangular decorations below the eyes of Nattorei. Its eyes have green rims, yellow schleras, and dark pupils. There is a green spike at the top of its body, and extending around it are vine-like, long green appendages tipped with spiky metal disks.

It can cling to cave ceilings.

Behavior

It clings to cave ceilings and attacks prey underneath by shooting spikes.

Habitat

They usually live in caves.

• No other Pokémon have the same type combination as Nattorei and its pre-evolved form.
  • Similarly, no other Pokémon have the same egg group combination as Nattorei and its pre-evolved form.
  • Nattorei and its pre-evolution have the fewest weaknesses of all Grass-type Pokémon.
• Nattorei has the highest base Defense of all Grass-type Pokémon, and the highest Special Defense of all non-legendary Grass-type Pokémon.
• Nattorei is the only Pokémon that has a base stat total of 489.
• Nattorei has a few similarities with Forretress. They're both usually stationary Pokémon; typically attached to a part of their surroundings. They're both Steel types. They both have Defense as their highest stat, Speed is their lowest stat (a common thing between Steel-type Pokémon). Except for their Sp. Defense and Speed, their stats are quite similar. They both can learn Spikes, Selfdestruct, Payback, Iron Defense, and Explosion. Also, they both have a 4x weakness to Fire type moves.
