Trivia
- No other Pokémon have the same type combination as Nattorei and its pre-evolved form.
- Similarly, no other Pokémon have the same egg group combination as Nattorei and its pre-evolved form.
- Nattorei and its pre-evolution have the fewest weaknesses of all Grass-type Pokémon.
- Nattorei has the highest base Defense of all Grass-type Pokémon, and the highest Special Defense of all non-legendary Grass-type Pokémon.
- Nattorei is the only Pokémon that has a base stat total of 489.
- Nattorei has a few similarities with Forretress. They're both usually stationary Pokémon; typically attached to a part of their surroundings. They're both Steel types. They both have Defense as their highest stat, Speed is their lowest stat (a common thing between Steel-type Pokémon). Except for their Sp. Defense and Speed, their stats are quite similar. They both can learn Spikes, Selfdestruct, Payback, Iron Defense, and Explosion. Also, they both have a 4x weakness to Fire type moves.
- Nattorei is the only steel type to learn the move Ingrain.
Origin
It appears to be based on a type of brier plant.
Name origin
Its name may be a combination of ナット natto, nut, and 豊麗 hourei, splendor.
