Ice Beam (Japanese: れいとうビーム Freezing Beam) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Ice Beam inflicts damage and has a 10% chance of freezing the target. Ice Beam can't freeze a target that has a Substitute or already has a major status ailment.
In other games
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, it fires in a straight line for 10 tiles.

Trivia
- Unlike the other two variations of Flamethrower, Ice Beam only has 10 PP.
- As of Generation IV, every Template:Type2 Pokémon, with the exception of Magikarp, can learn Ice Beam.
- Even though Ice Beam has a low chance of freezing in the games, it has a low chance of not freezing in the anime.
