Pokémon Mansion (Japanese: ポケモンやしき Pokémon Mansion) is an area located on Route 212. It's a big, old mansion owned by Mr. Backlot. The house is well-guarded outside. It's also the home of the famous Trophy Garden, which is located to the rear.

In the games

It has many rooms (rooms with beds can be used to replenish Pokémon), with the most important of them being Mr. Backlot's office. That room is also home to an expensive Pokémon statue, which is guarded by a policeman. It can, however, be touched when the guard has break (from 2 A.M. to 6 A.M.). In Pokémon Platinum, players can record Manaphy's data (as a seen Pokémon) from the book lying on Mr. Backlot's desk.

A butler and many maids are employed in the Mansion. In Pokémon Platinum, players may fight the maids in the 5-Maid Knockout Exact-Turn Attack Challenge, in which five maids must be beaten in a certain number of turns (no more, no less). The prize for winning the challenge is a duel with either Lady Celeste or Rich Boy Liam.

The western and eastern exits of the mansion are blocked by the maids. Neither of these doorways are functional, and only serve as decoration, as players with Action Replay have proven.

Pokémon Mansion in the anime

The Pokémon Mansion was featured in Hungry for the Good Life!. Mr. Backlot and his maid Monica also appeared in the episode. Monica first appeared before Ash and friends trying to catch a Cleffa that escaped Mr. Backlot's mansion. Afterwards she took them back to the mansion to get out of a storm and meet Mr. Backlot. They also met all the Pokémon that Monica cared for. She made Poffins for them to eat. Dawn captured a Swinub and learned that the next contest will be in Celestic Town.
