Pokémon Johto is the opening theme to the third season of the English-language Pokémon dub, Pokémon: The Johto Journeys. It was used from Don't Touch That 'dile to The Fortune Hunters.
In addition to being played as the third series opener, an alternate version was used in the opening theme to the third Pokémon movie, Spell of the Unown, and as such, is featured on the movie's soundtrack, Pokémon 3: The Ultimate Soundtrack. It is also on the album Totally Pokémon, but this version is different from the TV and movie version in that it has slightly different lyrics and a different artist, Johto. The opening uses footage from the third Japanese opening OK!.

Lyrics
Everybody wants to be a master
Everybody wants to show their skills
Everybody wants to get there faster
Make their way to the top of the hill
Each time you try, gonna get just a little bit better
Each step you climb is one more step up the ladder
It's a whole new world we live in
It's a whole new way to see
It's a whole new place with a brand new attitude
But you still gotta catch 'em all and be the best that you can be
Pokémon Johto!
Everybody wants to make a statement
Everybody needs to carve their mark
Stand alone in the victory circle
Stake their claim when the music starts
Give it all you've got! You can be the very best ever
Take your best shot! And what you'll learn will come together
It's a whole new world we live in
It's a whole new way to see
It's a whole new place with a brand new attitude
But you still gotta catch 'em all and be the best that you can be
Pokémon Johto!
It's a whole new world we live in (live in)
It's a whole new way to see (to see)
It's a whole new place with a brand new attitude (attitude)
But you still gotta catch 'em all and be the best that you can be
Pokémon Johto! Yeah!
It's a whole new world we live in
It's a whole new way to see
It's a whole new place with a brand new attitude
But you still gotta catch 'em all and be the best that you can be
Pokémon Johto! Yeah!
Pokémon Johto! Oh!
Pokémon Johto!
Trivia
- Although Born to Be a Winner officially became the opening in A Goldenrod Opportunity, the first Kids' WB! airings as well as the Toonami Jetstream presentations continued to use Pokémon Johto as the opening up to Type Casting. Additionally, a small portion of the song continued in usage as the eyecatches for the final dub commercial break up until Machoke, Machoke Man!.
- This was the first digitally animated theme. However, the first digital episode did not come until Here's Lookin' at You, Elekid.
