Kadabra (Japanese: ユンゲラー Yungerer) is a Psychic-type Pokémon.
It evolves from Abra starting at level 16 and evolves into Alakazam when traded.
Biology
Physiology
A Kadabra is characterized by its human-like body structure and its somewhat fox-like appearance. It has two large ears of the top of either side of its head, a red star-shaped symbol of its forehead (derived from Zener cards), and two somewhat sinister-looking eyes in the middles of its face. Its eyes lead down to its nose and mouth and its relatively large mustache that grows out on the narrower section of its face. On both of its arms, there are brown sections that are located on the shoulder region of its body. Its arms are thin and consist of Kadabra's regular yellow-hued skin. Its hands each have three fingers, of which all each have a large white claw attached. Its torso consists of a brown section of body similar to a fauld and an insect-like abdomen below it, which has three red wavy lines (also derived from the Zener cards). Attached to this abdomen is a huge, thick tail, which is mostly yellow with a band of brown circling it. Its legs are very thin and yellow. Its feet each have three toes: two in the front on each side, and one in the back near the ankle. Each of these toes has a large white claw attached to it. Kadabra wields one spoon, which is used to amplify its telekinetic powers.
Gender differences
A female has a shorter mustache.
Special abilities
Kadabra emit alpha waves when using its psychic powers that induce headaches to those near it. These waves cause clocks to run backwards and machines to malfunction. The amplitude of the waves is doubled when Kadabra are holding their spoons and increased even further when Kadabra close their eyes.
Kadabra, and its evolution, Alakazam, are the only known Pokémon that learn Kinesis.
Behavior
Kadabra, unlike Abra, no longer has to sleep for around 18 hours a day. However, they are less peaceful and are more devoted to fighting than their pre-evolution. However, if they are outnumbered, they will still use Teleport to escape.
Habitat
Kadabra live in urban areas, close to humans. Mostly they are found in abandoned buildings left to disrepair, just like its evolutions, Abra and Alakazam. It is found in Kanto, Johto and Sinnoh.

Trivia
Origin
Kadabra is based on a magician and also a spoon bender. It also shares similarities to goats and foxes, both animals with ties to magic.
Name origin
Kadabra is part of an incantation used in stage magic, Abracadabra. It may also derive from the Spanish word cabra (goat).
Yungerer is a corruption of Uri Geller (with リ ri replaced by the visually similar ン n), who claims to have the ability to bend spoons with his mind, as the Japanese names of the Abra line are based on famous mystics. Geller attempted to make a case against Nintendo of America for using his likeness in a character and lost, Nintendo's defense being that they had not named any Pokémon after actual people.
