Gabite (Japanese: ガバイト Gabite) is a dual-type Dragon/Ground Pokémon.
It evolves from Gible starting at level 24 and evolves into Garchomp starting at level 48.
Biology
Physiology
Gabite are dark blue, with red underbellies that cover from the middle of their abdomens to the bottoms of their jaws, and the rest of their undersides being a light blue. Gabite have appendages that resemble jets or planes; its four fins, one on each arm, one on its back and another on its tail; horns that resemble jet/plane engines rest on their heads, each with a light blue stripe in the middle. It has spikes on its hind limbs, and sharp claws on its feet. Its eyes have black scleras and gold colored irises.
Gender differences
A male has a cut on his dorsal fin, while the female does not.
Special abilities
Gabite are fierce and predatory dragons, known for their scales that have medicinal properties and can heal most illnesses. Gabite have short, yet deadly sharp teeth, like their pre-evolution, Gible. They have been known to move at extreme speeds.
Behavior
Gabite are territorial creatures. To protect their homes, they will run at high speeds, slashing any enemies out of their way as they go. Gabite has a habit of digging up gems and hoarding them in its nest.
Habitat
Judging from its classification, it likely lives in warm caves much like its pre-evolution, Gible.

Trivia
- Gabite shares the same species name with Druddigon. They are both known as the Cave Pokémon.
- Gabite Scales were stated to be a cure for sickness in the anime special Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time & Darkness.
- Due to the censor that prevents Pokémon with offensive nicknames being traded on the GTS, an English language Gabite cannot be traded on the GTS without a nickname in Pokémon Black and White.
Origin
Appearance-wise, Gabite seems like a cross between a European dragon and a shark; it may be based on the Landshark.
Name origin
Gabite may be a combination of がぶがぶ gabugabu (to gobble or gulp down) and bite. It may also derive from がぶりと gaburito (bite or chew) or がぶりと噛み付く gaburitokamitsuku (to sink one's teeth into).
