Flare Blitz (Japanese: フレアドライブ Flare Drive) is a damage-dealing Fire-type move introduced in Generation IV.
Effect
Flare Blitz will thaw out the user if it is frozen, and then inflict damage on the target.
Flare Blitz will cause the user to receive recoil damage equal to ⅓ of the damage done to the target. This move has a 10% chance of burning the target.

Flare Blitz is Charizard's side special, replacing Rock Smash which became its down special move following Charizard becoming an independent fighter. When used, Charizard charges forward, surrounded in flames. Like in the main games, Charizard takes recoil damage when using this move.
