Artwork of Poké Pelago

Poké Pelago (Japanese: ポケリゾート Poké Resort) is a feature introduced in Generation VII that utilizes Pokémon stored in the PC. A number of small islands make up Poké Pelago, each of which has its own function. As more Pokémon are sent to Poké Pelago, more facilities and isles become available. Poké Pelago is watched over by Mohn.

Poké Pelago is accessed through the menu and may be visited as soon as Charizard Glide is obtained, after completing Kiawe's trial at Wela Volcano Park.

Islands

The player starts with only Isle Abeens (at level 1), and can develop up to a total of five different islands. The player requires a certain number of Pokémon in their PC boxes and a certain number of Plain Poké Beans to develop islands. The islands can also be upgraded to improve their capabilities up to level 3, and any type of Poké Bean can be used to temporarily enhance that respective islands' capabilities or shorten the amount of time required to complete the task, which lasts depending on how many Poké Beans are used. Each type of Poké Bean adds the following amount of time when used.

Bean type Time duration
Plain 20 minutes
Patterned 1 hour
Rainbow 2 hours

Each island has a box where the Poké Beans are stored, and limits on how many beans can be placed into the box at a time, but increasing the island's level can increase the maximum amount. The player is also incapable of adding more Poké Beans until the previous supply has been used up for that area.

Isle Abeens

Isle Abeens

Isle Abeens (Japanese: のびのびリゾート Carefree Resort) is the first island available to the player. Wild Pokémon will visit the island to eat Poké Beans. If a Pokémon likes the player (indicated by a heart in a thought bubble), it may join the party. However, the wild Pokémon may leave without warning. A beanstalk is also located here that allows players to collect more Poké Beans, though only a limited amount can be gathered here at any given time. Increasing the level of the island expands the size of the beanstalk allowing more Poké Beans to be gathered. Occasionally the Pokémon from the player's storage may find a Poké Bean to give to the player.

Isle Aplenny

Isle Aplenny (Japanese: すくすくリゾート Fast-Growing Resort) is a perfectly round island that allows the player to plant Berries. Increasing the level of the island allows for more berries to be planted, and the resulting Berry trees will also have more berries to pick. Placing Poké Beans into the Bean Crate also increases the yield of berries from trees in addition to causing them to grow twice as fast.

Isle Aphun

Isle Aphun

Isle Aphun (Japanese: どきどきリゾート Exciting Resort) must be unlocked to use. Pokémon on this island will search for rare items such as evolutionary stones, Hard Stones, and Float Stones. Upgrading the island can increase the chances of collecting more items and introduce new types of expedition. The first three expeditions specialize in only specific items, but the fourth allows for any of these items to be found. Players can end expeditions early, but the Pokémon will not be able to deliver any items. Occasionally a Pokémon that has returned from an expedition may find a Poké Bean to give to the player.

Isle Avue

Isle Avue (Japanese: ぽかぽかリゾート Warm Resort) is a perfectly round island that allows Pokémon to relax in hot springs. Doing so steadily increases the Pokémon's Friendship. Increasing this island's level will allow for more Pokémon to be deposited and make it easier to build up its happiness factor. However, if a Pokémon is kept in the springs for 24 hours, its Happiness will begin to drop due to taking in excess heat, marked by a speech bubble with a purple dizzy symbol. Its state can be reset either by removing it from Isle Avue or by tapping on it to give it attention. Additionally, Isle Avue can be used for hatching Eggs — if the Egg is ready to hatch, it will have a speech bubble with an exclamation mark and hatch when interacted with.

Trivia

  • Having Poké Beans inside the box on an island does not double the speed at which the in-game timer ticks down; after one minute in real time, the timer ticks down two minutes, technically giving the same result.
    • Because the Poké Bean effect applies to all areas of each isle, the higher the level of the isle, the more efficient it is to use Poké Beans.
  • It is more efficient to trade Rainbow Beans to Mohn for Plain Beans and place them in the Bean Crate rather than placing them in as is. While a single Rainbow Bean can be traded for seven Plain Beans, the boost they give is only that of six Plain Beans.
